    PvM Wind Druid

    One quick question:

I just started a wind druid, at the moment on lv 14 with 3 points in Cyclone armor, and it doesn't seem to work all the time. Or am I under the wrong impression that cyclone armor doesn't absorb all (perhaps not poison) damage?

Yup. It stops only Fire, Cold, and Lightning.

EDIT: lol. Virtually immune is kind of misleading. You still need to make appropriate preperations for Souls and Gloams. ;).

CA absorbs a set amount of elemental damage(fire, cold, lightning), and then vanishes. You have to recast it often on low levels. To be clear, if CA absorbs 1500 elemental damage and you get hit by 100 elemental damage you will not suffer any loss in your life pool, but CA will be reduced to 1400. It virtually makes you elemental immune for a set amount of damage. Necros's Bone armor is similar, but it works only for physical damage.

Why would it be misleading? Fully synergized CA absorbes >2000 elemental damage?

    EDIT:

@NagisaFurukawa: That's why I wrote "virtually"(well, actually I wrote "virtualy" which is a typo) and "for a set amount of damage". I know that it doesn't protect you after it wares of.

I think what he's getting at is that Souls and Gloams attacks, in addition to the lighting damage which would be absorbed by the skill, include physical damage as well.

Else, should be all good! ...right?

Cyclone Armor is taken into account before resistances, and ordinary Gloams do around 300 a pop. In other words, you'll still die against a pack of Gloams if you aren't careful. Don't get me wrong. It's definitely an awesome skill (especially considering you NEED to get it anyway), but it hardly makes you immune.

EDIT: I see. Sorry for the misinterpretation.

how does CA works with absorb? Thundergods Vigor and so on?

If you have 500 dmg CA and TV equiped. will lightning heal you or will CA disavble TV-s "ability"

Cyclone armor comes before absorb when determining final damage.
