PvM werebear

I have read several threads around here including the build guides, and werebears seem to be poorly represented in pvm, and i have even read that fire claws is the only viable build...Is this true, or can a suitably equipped maul/shockwave(how many points should go here by the way) bear deal with hell?

The other question was the oft repeated one of what skills to max first: i am keeping werebear lycan and maul fairly even atm, but is there a concensus as to the order/no of points at particular levels?

Thanks

I've played lots of PvM werebears, and they are awesome characters to play. Fire Claws is one option, but Maul/Hunger is nice as well. Look up SSOG's Mighty Kodiak and Safetypro's Town Dump Werebear. Safetypro's build is based on SSOG's but suggest a cheap and effective Maul/Hunger bear. Out of SSOG's suggested setups I prefer the pure Mauler (max Maul, Lycanthropy, Heart of Wolverine, Werebear, rest in Hunger).

IMO the key to an effective Maul/Hunger bear is Crushing Blow. If you have enough of this (minimum 50%), you can do with only 1 pt in Maul and still do a lot of damage. I normally put 10 points in Lycanthropy to start with, because this will make you stay in Werebear form long enough to be comfortable. After this you can work on your main damage skill (normally Maul). Make sure you get 1 pt in Hunger as soon as you can; the leech will be welcome when you start in Nightmare. 10 pts in Lycanthropy may be enough to be safe, but 20 is better. This depends on your own preference / play style / gear setup.

Hello,
Bear is very fun to play PvM.
Even a Shocking Bear Summoner will do great in hell...
With the right gear i'm sure your Maul/Hunger Bear, Maul/Hunger/Summon, or FC etc will do great in hell.

I'm kinda favor to having some pets around when I play Druid PvM.

All depend on your play style.
