Pure sorc?

Pure sorc?

Hey guys, I'm starting to play diablo2 after a long absence. I am forced to play "pure" (i.e. no starting items). I was wondering how I could make a DECENT (i realize my sorc wont be nearly the best without items in mind) sorc? I was thinking static/orb/nova with warmth maxed?? I know that is old school but I am not familiar with the new school approaches. Please keep in mind I have NO items and i have to play pure. Thanks in advance.

p.s. did you guys see that fat guy get rocked in the jaw TWICE at the b-ball brawl?

If you do not have a inventory filled with lightning skillers and good +fcr/+mana gear you can better forget about nova. Monsters have more hp's and higher resists and some skills got synergies now (sort of bonusses when you invest skill points in other skills). You'd better take a look at the meteorb guide from sasja, because meteorbers don't need the best gear to be effective and to mf you some new gear. EDIT: there are lots of guides on this forum which will more than explain the new school approaches.

p.s. don't have even the slightest clue what you're talking about :scratch:

Blizz is a pretty basic skill to make a sorc with.... if you want something simple either go with pure cold or pure fire. Simply max all of the synergies there are after getting what you really need. If you want something more interesting though, I will agree with TriForce and suggest taking a gander at all of our forums lovely guides.

Another option 'sides Meteorb, but somewhat similar in execution would be the Frozen Orb / Chain Lightning Sorc, it's a build that does ok without uber items, although of course they do help if ya can get 'em :)

Nice guide, pretty coherent as far as what to do when, and what order to do things in, does leave some customization options although not a large amount. All in all pretty enjoyable I thought. Take note of the guide author's suggestions on resetting hot keys as well, once you get used to it it's a lot handier than the default arrangement.
