psnmancer items debate

    psnmancer items debate

    Hi

    I was wondering for a pvp poisonmancer, is it better to use

    trang belt+ trang shield, or

    arach+ homonculus.

    any ideas?

    The poisonmancers recommend using three piece trangs to get the most mileage out of the build (gloves, shield and either belt or armour) along with a death's web with poison facets. Apparently the &increase in poison skill damage is a killer when coupled with the -25% poison resist from the shield and -50% poison resist from the wand.

    If you wish to go for lots of +skills on the poison skills, the arach + homun combo is fine, toss on a blackbog's sharp as it has few rivals in boosting the three poison skills (only a white runeworded wand comes close and you have to be lucky to get a wand with the right skills)

    That decision depends alot on your other gear as well, since you'll need fcr for teleporting and spamming teeth.

    The basic priority list for any elemental damage based build is -resists, +%damage, and then +skills.

    Having -resist will dramatically increase damage against enemies with high resists (more so than +% damage) and against enemies with no resists will work just like +%damage. Furthermore, on a poisonmancer, lowering resists will actually increase the duration of a nova attack making it easier to micro things between nova blasts.

    +% damage generally beats +skills because it enhances the total fully synergized damage of the attack, whereas +skills will only effect the strength of the base skill. Thus a mere +10% could be a lot better than a +2-4.

    There is no debate to be had unless you're making bone/poison hybrid. If your main attack is poison, there is no better way to go than triple Trang's and Death's Web. A +6 Nova White wand and Homonc don't compare by a long shot.

    The dilemna with triple Trang's is whether to use the armor, helmet, or belt slot for the third item since Trang's gloves are the obvious 2nd item choice for a poisonmancer since they enhance FCR, poison damage and curses. Unless you're using Enigma, you don't really need FCR, so I'd recommend the belt for a nonenigma build or the armor if you have a skeleton/summoner build.

    Ideal for an Enigma build would be to get a nice circlet with +2 all and 20% FCR with Trang's belt, but such things are rare and not cheap. The poorer man will probably be best off using the crapass helmet of Trang's set and Arachnid's and one ring or amu to hit the 48% breakpoint or a crafted amulet at 15+% and two 10% FCR rings to hit 75%.

    most likely ill be using hk's psn/bone hybrid for the pvp build. the items im gonna use on him and already have are:

    p death's web with a p die facet, bp enigma, 2 bks, trang belt+gloves+shield?, maras, shako, +2 marrows. with those items u think its better to have the arach+homon, or keep the trang shield+belt?

    to have lots of -resists is great in pvp, since people normally build up high resists. If you are going to use enigma you will teleport anyway, so the low block on trangs shield shouldnt come to use that much.
    Id go for shield+belt even though its a little harder to survive. It makes you kill faster
