Preventing your account(s) from being stolen

Listen up people! You have to give all your accounts an e-mail address. Otherwise people can steal your accounts (by filling in nothing in the first field and give their address as the new address and than do password recovery). The best thing is if you use an address that you don't use normally. And don't give that address to anyone!

That is a good idea, last night my friend and I were just messing around on B.net when we found out that you can steal accounts that way. another way is to.... sell your account but have your email address in there than before the person you sold the account to has a chance to change the address you can do the password recovery and you get money and your account back...

so be warned about that bloody password recovery system

I hope so too. I thought of that possibility before I posted the thread. But, as this forum contains mostly nice people, I think I can save someone this way. And the people who're out to steal probably has thought of this already.

My understanding is if you don't give an email address at the start, you can not do it later. Therefore this scam can't work.

How can you do it though?

Exactly what Brett said. I don't think that you can do this scam because they require you to give the email at the start or never accept it later on.

That is, unless Blizzard has more flaws..

Morgul, did you really go out and steal accounts? :(
