Prepping for Ubers

Hello all,

I have been building a 1 point smiter according to the excellent guide posted here. I have also been following the other fanazealot guide stickied here (as thats essentially what a 1pt smiter is). I have finally gathered 3 keysets and are almost ready to ubers. I just want to make sure I am ready (or almost as it seems) to do it.

Currently my char is level 84 with the following skills:

Maxed Fana, Zeal, HS.
level 8 sacrifice. 1 pt prereqs, redemption, salvation.

I have 10 free skill points + 4 more for pending skill quests. Is there anything besides sacrifice I should be putting points into? I read somewhere that Defiance, for the HS defence bonus. Is this worth it? Also, with a sacred rondache and HS, my current block is 60%. Should I raise dex to accomodate max block?

my base stats are:

STR: 116 +25 from guillames face and sigons gaunts.
Dex: 111 + 8 from rare ammy + 7 from ring
Vit: 150
Energy: Base

I have a free 114 stat points +15 from lam esems, i've yet to do. Should I raise my base dex (maybe to 126 for phase blade?) and str to? Or should I just dump the 100+ into vit?

My gear is as follows:

Guillame's face
Redeemer (should be getting a lightsabre soon, also have a 1os heaven's light)
Rare pally shield (garbage, looking for a elite pally shield currently.)
Sigon's gaunts (need something new, probably cant afford dracs)
String of Ears
Gore Riders
Manald heal and rare LL, +7 Dex ring, resist ring
Rare ammy with Dex and resists.
Armor is a crappy rare platemail.

Currently I am looking to replace the gloves, armor and shield (the lightsabre I am def getting, as affordable fast killing power). What should I look for in the armor and gloves to replace. Drac's, as I said is out of my reach, as if HoZ for a shield. I am thinking Duriel's or Gris armor for replacing my armor.

Any ideas?

Also, I have a fair amount of CB and LL, does smite apply CB and LL? From my testing it doesnt really seem too, but maybe im just missing it. If it doesnt, then I take the plan in trist is to zeal with CB, then smite to death?

Sorry for the long post, but I want my pally prepared to solo uber trist.

You need Draculs for Ubers. Leeches don't work with Smite.

EDIT: If you really can't afford them, then a wand with life tap charges would be a must.

Yeah, I forgot to say that a a Life Tap wand is on my list of things to buy (from good ol drognan). Any other suggestions?

Hmm, i may recall incorrectly, but i think a 2os Heavens light socketed with Shaels is needed to hit the fastest smite breakpoint with max fanat. Also, Heavens, Gores, Duress and guillaumed will give you 98% CB, which is what i do with my smiter. Works great, soloing ubers in no time, dont even have to drink bottles.

Hmm I will look into Duress. What type of base armor should I use?

Any suggestions as to where I should put the rest of my skill and stat points?

Also, Will ancient's Pledge do the trick in an elite pally shield? The resists + ED seem to be a good, cheap solution.

Hmm, if you find a nice elite pally shield (=good [email protected]), a 4s (or even a 3s) with 4/3 perfect diamonds (giving 57 / 76 [email protected]) would be better than ancients pledge. I made y Duress in a 13%edef Wire Fleece, but i guess thats up to personal preference. Use the best elite armor you've got and have str enough to wear.

I would definitely go for 20 points in sacrifice, and then dump the rest into defiance. My pure smiter have something like 23.5k defence after HS (~35k after shout with my uber trist pre-buffing barb, lvl 38 BO/Shout), and i feel its helping.

My current gear:
-Guillaumes face (socketed with Um)
-Heavens light +3 2s with 2xShael
-Upped HoZ with PDiamond (crappy %edef)
-Metalgrid (mid) amulet
-Duress wire fleece
-Draculs grasp
-Upped Gore riders
-the belt from the IK set (+25str, resists)
-Ravenfrost
-BK5

-Anni 12/18/??
-some random life charms (total life after BO ~3800)

on switch:
Life tap wand
Griswolds Honor with 3 PDia's (102 [email protected]).

with this equipment i can solo all the mini-ubers as well as ut itself. With BO and Shout it's even easier. I usually do mephisto first, and then i use Salvation. Diablo and Baal die much faster due to fanaticism.
