    Heard about it in class.

    http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/d...-cure-for-cancer-using-pie-tins-and-hot-dogs/

Some guy discovered a potential cure for cancer. He was NOT a doctor, just a retired guy who couldnt sleep tinkering around with stuff in his garage at night And he found the potential cure for cancer. It works on hot dogs, they already did it on rats and it works, and they said in at least 4 years they will be able to try it on humans.

It was on 60 Minutes on Sunday.

Potential cures for cancer pop up every month. We've been able to do all sorts of things to rats for decades, but not been able to make these things work well on humans.

In other words, I find all medical advancement news uninteresting until it's actually successfully being used on people.

Can't say I've ever heard of a bun with a weener in it that's going through cancer.

Destroying cancer cells and curing cancer are completly different things. All he's done is potentially found a way to target cells that can't be removed with surgery or other means.

In other words, it doesn't "cure" cancer any more than a sharp knife does.

Except he hasn't found a way to target them yet. He can cook the cells when he knows where they are, but given the explanation in the article it sounds like each cell has to be individually injected with metal nanoparticles.

But kudos to him for working on this. The more ways we can approach the situation, the more tools we have to deal with it, and the better the chance of finding a workable solution.

    That's why I said "potentially."

I agree that it's a good idea, though.

I'm a fan of the tiny pellet of radioactive material being inserted into a tumor and cooking the cancer.

If there were a simple way to identify the cells then your immune system could cure cancer.
