Possible MP group???

I've been thinking, and while 1.10 is awesome, I miss classic. I was wondering, would there be any interest in 1.09 Classic, maybe Hardcore, MP games? I was thinking of just MP games at first, but if there's enough interest and MP group would be awesome. Only rules would basically be no twinks and no cheats, any build is cool, but do your homework on classic, it's a whole different game.

I miss getting excited when I find rares, and I miss my BG/IM Necromancer. Let me know if anyone would be interested in an MP group or even just playing from time to time.

Also, does anyone know if there's an easy way to switch between versions of Diablo II? I mean, can I just run the 1.09 installer and play 1.09? Or is there a reverter?

Do a forum search for version switcher. This question was asked a while ago and, after getting the thumbs up from AE, TrenShadow (I think) posted a link to his version switcher. I don't think it was before the forum crash, so it should still be there.

Ya I made a thread about it not too long ago and AE made a link to the other thread. He then went on to "flame" me for not using the thread search :teeth:

1.06 classic I could be interested in, depending on my schedule (have a sorc at level 24). 1.09 I still play quite a bit (LoD) and have no desire to play 1.09 Classic ;)

Yes, my tar is Nightmare from M:tG ;)

differences in 1.06... dunno how it compares to 1.09 Classic as I've never tried any 1.07+ Classic versions. No runes, jewels or charms. No Elite items. Only normal uniques/sets. Mercs don't transfer between acts - can't equip them or feed them potions. No playersX command. Can get some insanely good rare items (especially dual leech jewellery). Uniques have no level requirements - can have +8 all skills by around level 10-12 depending on str needed / char class etc. Act 5 doesn't exist - game ends automatically 90 seconds or so after killing Diablo. Blocking isn't based on Dex. Not much in the way of cube recipes. Good odds for gambling set/unique items :D

That's about all I can think of right at the moment ;)

So basically the only difference between 1.06 C and 1.09 C is that uniques don't have req's.

I've played pretty much all versions so I can't remember which are which as I've never considered looking back until 1.10.
