Poor man's mfer

Like the title says I'm poor all my characters have expired, and I was just wondering what the best class would be to use to start collecting gear again.

I want to be able to mf with speed and ease. I was thinking it would probably be a character that was less gear dependant like a sorc. But I have no idea what kind of build to make.

On a side note please don't suggest any paladin builds, I can't stand paladins. No offense to the pally lovers.

If you've got no gear at all a skellymancer might be OK, as would a meterob sorc as she should be able to hunt for her own gear.

IMHO Sorc is a pretty gear-dependant class, it's hard to tele and live while you're poor...though of course, not as gear-dependant as a teleing hammerdin.

Skellymancer, on the other hand, can walk around many areas of hell with no gear on, and never be in danger of dying. As long as you stay away from areas with souls, resistance doesn't matter much, either. A high level of corpse explosion kills monsters very fast, too. It does take a while getting started each game, summoning your army, so it's not the character to do pindle runs (or the like) with, much better suited to doing pit runs, or, once you have enough resistance gear, world stone keep is good too (full clear + baal). Both areas can drop almost every item in the game. You can tack on pindle, or similar quick targets at the end, of course, the longer each game is, the less % of your time goes into getting your army summoned at the beginning.

Once you have good survival gear for a sorc, she'll probably be the faster MFer though, since she can do Meph runs much, much faster.

If you're on east NL, shoot me a tell at twelvebagger, I'll see if I can get you started with some basic gear.

That aside, I'd recommend a sorc build or a summoner necro.

You can summon your skellys from the corpses outside of Pindle's lair.
