Just a fun little poll about preferences for the display text on the Life and Mana Orbs.

The reason I asked is because in this post by @jiansonz, he said:
...and I was like..."Yes...uhhh...I can see that" o_O

For those who aren't aware of this (I know there are some new players), in patch 1.13 Blizzard added the option of display text for life and mana in the form 237/312 over each of the orbs so you can see exactly how much points remain:
Personally I prefer to have both displays 'on', but life is usually more critical. What do you prefer?

Both, but mainly that comes from PvP. I don't really look at the numbers PvM.

I use the numbers on my Travincal Zealot so I can see when Battle Orders has worn off. He has a bunch of auras that obscure warcry auras (he has Exile etc.) so it can be a useul indicator. When you add in the Hydras from the council along with drops you often can't see much at all!

No text. Tried it for awhile, I think after some questioning of my sanity for not doing it, but never found a reason to justify the extra clutter.

    I have it on both.

Life, cause I'm so used to seeing life numbers in rpgs; and Mana, cause symmetry. =D

EDIT: Wouldn't have minded the usual white text on top of the bulb either.

Early on in 1.13 I felt the same way about the visual clutter, but then I got used to it and it didn't bother me, now it feels off when it's not there.

Both. Because of a lot of reasons mentioned here I guess.

Both. As a Hardcore player, it's a must for Life. Mana is for symmetry, as @Gynli mentioned already.

Symmetry is proving to be a strong motivator!

I have to agree with what others said. PvP it's a must, no exceptions. PvM it depends on whether you play HC or not. In SC I tend to turn it on if life is <1500, especially when encountering Dolls or FE monsters. It helps to estimate how many blows you could take before biting the dust. (And makes it more frustrating if it's a one shot)

Both on so I never run around without BO. I wish I could use it in 1.07.

I prefer numbers off, I think mostly because I'm so used to not having them on. Now and then I happen to turn them on by mistake, and then I get distracted and annoyed by them. Plus I think they're ugly. If they had been more in style with the rest of the graphics it would have bothered me less.

For me, it's enough to know roughly how many hundreds my max life is, then relate the 'bulb status' to that. If life quickly drops down to about 2/3 or less, I immediately go for my purples.

There are times I want to know the exact numbers - then I open the character screen.

I think this is similar to a dashboard of a car. While both orbs are necessary to look at regularly for exact amounts, there are also certain heightened moments of anxiety or panic when reading them quickly out of the corner of your eye is live or die. I'm really bad at keeping track of my health and mana bulbs so when I do look at them all I'm interested in is whether it looks high or low. As a result, having the numbers around is just annoying. Also as a result, it makes me really bad at HC :p

I like seeing exactly how fast health/mana regenerates. Much more satisfying than seeing the bulbs move very slowly.

I like seeing the numbers on both, and more so to make sure BO is active. Since I am not that fast of a runner, BO does run out sometimes and I really prefer to know that as to not make a stupid mistake thinking I have a cushion when I don’t. Plus, I know what the number is, so if I accidentally manage to switch a piece of gear I will know immediately. That’s not very likely to happen, but just in case.

I like numbers for both bulbs...but after each small hiatus of gaming I forget how the numbers are actually toggled

I have it on for life, clearer indicator but also for noticing BO etc. Mana is just there because I'm a symmetry snob.
