    Poisonous paranoidizon?

I have an idea. Since poison damage is best used when applying it to different enemies all the time, and strafe does exactly that, could it be a good idea to use them? Strafe also works well with hit causes monster to flee, and knockback gives a "good start" to the fleeing. So if you strafe with those mods, all enemies near you will be knockbacked (out of melee range), then run away from you from there, getting even further away from you, and constantly being damaged by the poison while running. And when they get back, you just strafe again. Guided arrow can take care of single tough enemies. Equipment should have lots of poison damage, knockback (good source is ceglaws pincers) and hit causes monster to flee. Crushing blow can also be good, to give the poison damage a "good start", just like knockback gives it to enemies when they're fleeing. So I thought rattlecage and ceglaws pincers would be good equipment, and some other poison, cb hcmtf sources. is this a good idea? The name paranoidizon comes from here shooting at any enemy near her and doesn't like them being close to her.

Trang gloves should be better then clegs if you wish to specialize in poison, kb from either bow or giant skull.

You'd have to get really good charms if you wish to get any poison damage worth mentioning.

Note that the poison javelin skills would prove more versatile to use.

Back in the 1.09 days, we'd fill up inventory with poison scs and used WF/Silence bow to wreak havoc among the cow population.. :)

Indeed, Silence would be golden :badteeth: for this build.

Nope, the +poison damage% (or any other +elemental damage%) doesn't work with ranged weapons (though the LCS says it does).

Does that include venom and things like fire arrows (skills) or just charms/gear elemental damage?

Sorta. The skills themselves get a boost, but you don't get an extra boost to the raw damage like you would if the skill was used in melee (most notably with enchant).

EDIT: Here's an example to better explain it. Assume you're a sorceress with Enchant, which adds 100 fire damage. Assume you also have 100% extra fire damage from fire mastery.

    MELEE:
-Fire mastery boosts Enchant to add 200 fire damage.
-Fire mastery boosts the fire damage on each swing to 400.

    RANGED:
-Fire mastery boosts Enchant to add 200 fire damage.
-Secondary boost does not happen. LCS assumes it does, and displays the fire damage as 400.

So skills themselves get a boost in damage. Any elemental additions to the damage on a ranged attack don't.

Ah, correct of course, as someone with both melee enchanter and wwsin I shouldn't have forgotten about that :hide:

Would Silence be good for this though? I thought the blind target property cancels the monster fleeing property....he wants them to flee and be poisoned, not necessarily be blind and poisoned. But otherwise.....it's a good idea, but maybe a bit difficult to pull off due to the massive poison you would need. Face of Horror and maybe an upgraded Riphook would be my two cents though if you still wanted to try it...good luck and let us know if you do....
