    Poison/Skeleton Hybrid Starting Help

Playing around with a few different necro builds atm, and now I'm thinking of making a poison/skeleton one. This is what I'm thinking for skills

    Max raise skeleton
    Max dagger
    Max p.explosion
    Max p.nova
    1 point in all pre.reqs
    1 point in all curses

Now, for stats and skills I've been looking around, and this is what I suggest myself

    Str: 80 (for Viper)
    Dex: 190 or base
    Vit: everything else
    Ene: base (or 50)

Problem is, I have ZERO items, I just started playing again. Can I get along with base energy (or possibly 50) until I get decent gear?

A few questions on skills here in the end:

Were should I invest skills when the above is done? Skeleton mastery?

Is clay golem worth it with only one point in it, or do I need it anyway for resist (don't know if resist is mandatory for the skellies)?

    Thx in advance

    Hello. Start here.

Poison / Summon is a very expensive build item wise if you want to focus on the poison side of things. If you are not 'rich' (as you mentioned) I would recommend you maxing skele's / mastery and then poison nova / poison explosion.

    Follow the guide from there.

Though honestly, your first character, which is good for mfing, is the standard:

    MAX SKELETON WARRIOR
    MAX SKELETON MASTERY
    MAX SKELETON MAGES
    MAX CORPSE EXPLOSION
1 CLAY GOLEM / GOLEM MASTERY / SUMMON RESIST
    1 TEETH
    1 AMP DAMAGE
    1 WEAKEN (PRE-REQ)
    1 TERROR (PRE-REQ)
    1 DECREP

Max warrior first, mastery second, ce third, mages last. Break from those points only for the 1 pt's into those other's mentioned.

good luck, and if your on useast sc ladder, talk to me sometime. i'm nice now.

Yes, all your remaining points would go into Skeleton Mastery.

You would need roughly 91 into strength(depending if you get any of the Trang's set or complete set)...but you really only need: Belt, claws, and head from the set for a Venomancer.

I went with max block with my Trang's head, and rest into Vitality. I used mana potions, so I put zero into energy.

Gumby,Golem Mastery, and Summon Resist are all 1 point wonders(your +skills will do the rest for you).

As Fluffy said, you might want to make a Summoner first and start mfing as one(or a sorc) to get some good items to trade or find yourself before starting a Venomancer Hybrid.

I would suggest trying posting in The Item's thread to get you started off.

Thx guys, I think I'll go start a MF nec then. Can he take on bosses with only skellies and CE (+ curses of course), or is it for Pindleruns (or who-/whereever you would suggest)?

That build can get you a good fast whooping on the pits (act 1...great mf spot in 1.10), and any boss really.

The trick is to go with Crushing Blow on your merc. To get this, shoot for some items with the mod. A lot of the times, just using the helmet 'Guillame's Face' (set winged helm).

Bosses shouldn't be too hard. With CB merc, the other good trick is to run up, cast DECREP really fast, then CAST A CLAY GOLEM right on top of him.

Agent-Orange, I have more or less that build. If u are lucky to have a Spineripper or another 'ignore defense' dagger, stick with enough dex for geat, and go for a lot of vitality.

But not against Act bosses, because ITD does not work on them.
