Poison-Mancer Skills

I was going to max the 3 poison skills and stick a point in curses..How many should you place in Lower Resist and is the best bet to max Skels/SM or max mages? I'm sure mages do well at level 20 and beyond with Lower resist up but skels as tanks are pretty attractive too

lower res would help your mages out a lot. but at the same time, since they are ranged attackers, i could see them getting hit AS MUCH AS you, instead of more. I'd go with poison tree, 1 bone armor, then max wall and get marrowalks (with no points into prison) for MAX armor life, and you'll have a good strong wall too.

get a merc and your gravy

errr depending on your +skills I'd leave LR at base. 10 points invested tops. The returned effect is so diminishing it's hardly worth it past that lvl.

As you can see with more lvls the returns get insanely crappy.

lvl. 4 -44%
lvl. 5 -47%
lvl. 6 -49%
lvl. 7 -51%
lvl. 8 -52%
lvl. 9 -54%
lvl. 10 -55%

lvl. 14 -59%
lvl. 15 -60%

lvl. 18 -61%
lvl. 19 -62%
lvl. 20 -62%

As I said, I'd personally only put 1 point with decent +skills

I agree with both gvandale and Necrochild313 with what they said first of all. As for your choice between Skeletons/ Skeleton Mastery or Mages....I would much rather have a good wall of Skeletons, a Gumby, and a HF (or might) merc.....over Mages.

Besides, with +skills you can have enough Mages to do some damage for you to put 1 point into it.

And Mages do die much easier that Skeletons, so you will be raising them more often...depending on you situation.

If you are a Venomancer and want summons I think Mages in Combo with a HF Merc work out really nice. You both want the same curse applied on the monsters. But Skellies can work as well. Personally I like the Mages.

mages and skellies both will die either way
i suggest using claygolem with maybe 1 pt into mastery as the life for clay golem is screwed up - goes up exponentially
i think a lvl 10 clay golem has somewhere around 5000 hp
they can go well over 30000 with plus to skills, or you can max it and ur plus to skills will bring it close to 50 000
my clay golem never dies..i'm serious

Yeah so? Clay is cheap. Easy recastable. 1 point wonder. The slow in combo with the HF make him neigh invincible. But he does no damage. The Mages do. The mages work wonders for me. As a Venomancer he can use all the extra types of elemental damage he can get.

BTW: And at level 10 Clay has 1.4k life in Hell.
