poison mancer Q's

1.) does lower resist always remove immunities? (ive heard both answers from friends)

2.) Is there anyone here that has a poisonmancer that is relatively high lvl that is able to show me how it plays in hell (im on useast ladder) if someone has a poisondagger necro I would love to see that too!

3.) should i go skellies or revives for meat shields? (also heard both answers) - i would have +7 skills that would apply to either.

thx

I'd definitely guess skellies + clay golem/mastery/resist (golem is 1 point wonder with enough +skills) for tanks. Revives are unreliable since they only last 3 minutes, and they tend to wander around "doing their own thing".

Not sure how many points you want to devote to it? If you want to only invest very few points, just the clay golem might work, he's a pretty good tank and for some reason monsters LOVE him. I swear, I can have all my skeletons fighting, and then summon a golem with them, and 2 seconds later everything is hitting the golem.

No. Lower Resist (and amp damage) just lowers resistances by a certain amount. If the monster has more than 100% resist it is immune; Lower Resist (and amp...) work at reduced efficiency if a monster is immune (not sure how much, though, but I think it's pretty much, like 1/5).

Essentiallly, if the monster is immune, LR might not be able to get it below 100%, in which case it will still be immune.

Also, the game will no longer show the monster as being immune, but it might still have high resistance.

I am, however, not exactly sure of how -resist from items factors in. Somebody more knowledgeable has to answer that.

1)ok 90% of immunes will be broken byt lower resist but there are still that 10% that are still immune

When you break their immunity they still have extremely high resists, my guess is 95, so your poisen will do next to now damage, but as soon as you have broken their immunity then -res from equipment works, this means you can take their resists down to dealable lvls, I have -** from my equipment and this takes them down close to zero this means I deal alot of damage to them :D hehe

2)If you were on europe sure You could watch my nec :D hehe

3)I personally put 1 point in every summening skill Skeles and revives are godly meat shields, revives dont last long but are harder than lvl 8 skelels hehe(depends on where you are playing) and it isnt that much effort just to summen another 8 revives when their time expires

enjoy the poisenmancer :D

I agree with fallen on the tanking Q. There is no mind in wasting multiple skills in skeletons that won't survive anyways, so just put 1 point in all summon skills (except skele mastery perhaps). In hell, revives are much better tanks than weak skeles.

I am debating the same question. Planing to max all 3 poison skills and basically need something to hold attackers back until my poison starts working. I am pretty versatile in curses (1 pt in everyone, a few more in DV) and will get me some CE radius. Of course that leaves me thin on skillpoints. Skellies will never be the source of damage, but maybe a more reliable "wall of bones" than the revives "wall of undead meat" :D

Of course..whenever I play without a party, I could raise a bonewall...which - as a synergy to Bone armoue - might have decent HP's.

So SM, RS might be 1 point wonders, especially if I get a few +skills. (I am kind of hoping to have..one day in the far, far future... Trangs gloves, Trangs armour and Trangs necro head...wielding the Arm of King Leoric. Add a +2 necro circlet/ammy and maybe Arachnid mesh...that sounds like a lot +skills to both P&B and summoning skills and lower poison res/add poison damage)

I use this on my ladder europe poisenmancer

deaths web with -5/4 facet in (1/-54)
shako(-5/4 facet)
vipermagi :)()
trangs head(-4/5 facet)
soj
bk5%
marrowalk(+2/17)
trangs gloves
trangs belt
maras(25)
on switch cta 1bo and splender
I have anni 15/13/8 on him
and 5 skillers

as for my left over points I have maxed spirit and now maxing bone wall. Spirit is to deal with the 10% that remain immune. Spirit +merc + revives usually makes short work of them.

I am lvl92 have abou 1100 life with no bo
my bone amrour absorbs about 800 damage

My nova damage is 8k
my spirit damage is 2.5k
my mercs damage is 2k(normal rogue with wf)

I can summen 11 revives 5 skeles and 5 skele mages

I didnt put any points in mastary because marrowalk gives +2 which means u get the skill anywayz and no need for you to put points in it

hope this helps :D
