Playstation Portable is racist?
I saw this story originally in the crappy rag newspaper they give out on the trains here. It said Sony has pulled the billboard campaign it had planned for the Netherlands and has apologised to anyone offended by the ad.
Take a look at the picture on the site. What do you think?
I don't think it's racist as such, but it's certainly a very stupid thing to do. That image definitely causes me to raise an eyebrow and it's hard to believe anyone could be naive enough not to see the implications. Then again the real issue is that it rubs up against people's sensitivities rather than that it is intrinsically prejudiced. If it were a blonde grabbing a brunette (with PSP yellow is coming! or something I guess) no-one would care. Still, what possessed them to make that ad I have no idea.
