I'm still playing quiet a bit. Not as much as i used to but that is only because i have been introduced to driving and a car wich has introduced me to a much larger social life. But i can see a large break comming up, well atleast while i beat doom3. And then another one when Hl2 comes out. Then my d2 days may be over after WoW comes out. Atleast i hope they will be.

Unless they kick me out I'll continue to mod here even after my Diablo playing days are "over".
And that is good news. :drink:

Back to the topic, I play about the same, execpt I didn't play much last weeks of season 1, since they announced season 2 coming soon.
Guess I'm not the only one in this case.

I avoided PC games like a plague for years, only reason I ever got into DII is my sone wanted it for Christmas.......

Guild Wars is my next move.

I play just as much now as ever but i am not making new guys with a vengance like I use to but this may change at any time. Had a whole mess of frineds playing in the first week or two and it has thinned out fast lately.......I think I can hang on here for fun till GW.

I'll leave Dia and move to WoW when it is released. But for now... :D

And yes, I'm playing much less the before. KTA and old friends is actually what keeps me interested in this oldie.

Dude, Wolfenstein rocked. I totally forgot that that game put a 4 month break in my Diablo career. All I did was kill ****s, find all the bonuses, and play on their PvP server for all that time, every night.

Oh man, PvP in that game rocked. Total campage on Sniper Hill on the Beachhead. Then the mods that came out - Capture the Flag. Nothing was more fun that lauching a rocket at your good friend coming out of a boat, over and over and over. And then getting flipping sniped. Oh yeah, I tended to play the Axis side. Camp the radio room, etc. The beach was my favorite map, as you can tell.
your thinking of a different wolfenstein, heh. I think your thinking Return to castle wolfenstein. which was a good game. Btw, the expansion "enemy territory" released by splash dmg is really good, i think its a few multi player lvls, and they are mostly good / fun. (i think there are like 9 levels). Not to mention its stand alone and you can DL it for free.

Anyhow, Doom really was revolutionary. One of the first games you could play over modems multiplayer. One of the other things is that it used a 3d'ish environment (more 3d than say, wolfenstein). Each of the games had their own impact though, wolfenstein (first FPS) Doom (first multiplayer(i think) among other things) Quake (first Truely 3d game, completely polygon rendered.), Half-life (really at the time the most robust engine on the market. Counter strike's continued success is a testament to its versatility). Anyhow, I think other games of merit were Warcraft, warcraft2 and diablo. diablo might have been the first game where you could play online and interact without having to know other people's ip, though there may have been others they weren't very good if i remember right. Not to mention that these three games basically spawned generes of games, especially diablo, with all the 'diablo clones'.

anyhow im still playing this season, and i agree that the only thing that will take me away from d2 is guildwars. Its like everything i like about D2: action based rpg, game based around character setup, fun areas to explore, a large amount of character customization, alot. without everthing i dont like :horribly unbalanced pvp, grief pk's, unbalanced items, advantaging mindless running and "grinding", a company that isnt committed to people that play its games, you get the idea.
