That command only works on Single Player or Open B.Net. It will not work on the closed realms.

    Note that it's:
    /players x

where x is the number of players (max 8)
still only works in sp like Evrae said.

When used properly on non realm single player, the following message will display:

    "Players set to x"

Any monsters spawned from that point on in that game will be effected.

And if you use TrenShadow's version switcher, you can still go back and play diferent patches, where the comand may be different. Example: in 1.09, you omit the "/" and type"players x" where x = any number up to 64. I think an earlier version allowed up to 256 players, but may be wrong as those days are lost in the mists of time.

I'm confused about typing this command in single player. For instance, do I press the "Enter" button then type "/players 8" then the "Enter" button again?????? Could someone describe the exact sequence please?

    Thanks in advance!!!

Press Enter to bring up the chat box.
Type in /players 8, or whatever number you choose.
    Press Enter again.
If you do it right, a message should appear that says "Players set to 8".

Ok!! I must be doing something wrong. I get into B.net and create. when in game I hit enter and type /players 8.

I keep getting 'invalid command' or something like that.

    HELP!!!
And just what does it do? I heard it helps skill faster.

thanx in advance for the help

As has been said already in this thread, it doesn't work on b.net.
And it simulates there being 8 people in the game, namely increasing the monster's life, and reducing the chance of getting NoDrop.
