Player War on Bots

Player War on Bots

So we all Hate Bots and we all wish something could be done.

I may be naive for suggesting this, and my hopes maybe too great, but hear me out.

Join my revolution to wrest back control of D2 from the accursed Spambots, fueled by the greed and deviousness of the Item-Selling websites!

Perhaps the start to the solution could be with us players?

There is a hack reporting form here http://us.blizzard.com/support/hackswebform-us.xml

There are drop down options to report players for hacks, websites for item-selling, and all things unlegit that are destroying our beloved game.

I realise this could be incredibly tedious to do repeatedly, but perhaps if every forum go-er does this once, could it spur at least a response from Blizzard? I could only dream of a true fix....

I doubt they even read those forms anymore. It is a nice thought, but the reality is that 95% of the botting probably goes on in private games, so the only ones you would catch would be the ones that actually help people, like baal bots and enchant bots. I believe that blizzard will do a lot more to stop hacking/botting in D3(at least early on) so just hang in there. The reality is that they know exactly whats going on, and could very easily put a stop to most of it, they just choose not to.

I often suggest that, but some people aren't ready to be unplugged.

To be honest botting is dumb anyways because its so easy to get items. Just keep mfing and do trades. This site even has a trading forum to make it easier to get what you want. Your other option is using that other site im not going to say here but gl if you are planning on getting items that way.

If single player had the ubers quest I'd have stuck there, but I guess I'll put up with the bots and the spammers since I wanna complete it.

The spammers though, are really really bad. And there was all kinds of gold selling spam in WoW last time I played. I really hope Blizz does something about it for DIII but I'm not getting my hopes up. It's like Jurrasic Park, spam will find a way.

Well in DIII, the games can only have 4 people maximum, so they'll fill up faster, thus creating less room for bots. In DII, games rarely fill up, unless they're exp runs or trade games.
So hopefully, spambots won't be able to join AS many games because they'll be full already. I'm desperately hoping this anyway.
