    Ping Spikes?

    Greetings there,

I was wondering if there would be any help for my random ping spikes I get inside of Diablo II while online. The problems only started occurring about a week or so ago, I'm not exactly sure what's wrong. This is different from when the entire game lags as the ping spike only effects myself.

I've tried deleting the bncache.dat in the D2 folder, ran a disc defrag, tried running Diablo 2 in 2d. However none of these fixed it.

    Thanks for any potential help!

you could check task manager if there is anything going on in the background when you are playing. i had a virus scan going the other day and it slowed down diablo so i checked and there it was. so i had to wait for it to finish.

To check to see if it's your ISP at fault, you could try pinging some server near the relevant battle.net realm (for example, ping -t google.com). See if the ping values spike at the same time that the d2 ones do.
