**Re: pierce question**
The post Allerii linked ignores the fact that pierce is limited up to 5 hits total, i.e. one missile can only pierce 4-times. Besides, the math is incorrect anyway

If

*p* denotes the base chance to pierce (from Pierce skill&items), then

*p*^

*n* represents the chance to pierce AT LEAST

*n*-times. The chance to hit EXACTLY

*n* targets (including the first one) is therefore:

*p*^(

*n*-1)-

*p*^

*n* for

*n*<5

*p*^4 for

*n*=5

0 for

*n*>5

I agree though, that Pierce returns are not diminishing in terms of damage output, as long as you target sufficiently large packs. I made a table reflecting these relations within the Fury

guide.

Since we don't know much about how D2 generates "random" numbers, the relations may as well be pretty irrelevant - note that the considered events come in a very short time-scale, and thus their independence is a very optimistic assumption

With no cap on the chance to pierce, it's pretty easy to reach 100% with the aid of 33% from Razortail, and get the insidious RNG out of our schemes
