    Picking up Cgems A Waste?

hmm i always tend to pick up chipped gems, so later i could luckily find someone who would want to trade for them.. i currently have 70 in stock..

is it a waste of time to pick these up.. because it seems to me not many people want any of em anymore..

    wats the deal?

Chipped gems are far too easy to find, and not particulary useful. There is nothing in the game that "eats" chipped gems in masses.

I still pick them up, but they just end up on the mule for non-perfect gems waiting to be cubed up. And if I need one to cube up a rune I might be lucky, else I just wait...

They were valuable back in the day when people rolled cb's, but now it's all about runes and runewords, i don't pick but any gem under flawless, it's a waste of space and time.

I keep a handful of them to upgrade runes. I'm regularly running out of ctopazes, although the waste of mule space from too much Thul runes is probably not higher than the waste of space from cgems

I usually keep a few ahndy for cube repairs (I use demon limbs quite frequently), but other than that I haven't had a good use for em.

I am currently ISO to upgrade runes. This is somewhat of an experiment, trying to collect and up as many runes as possible. But the market is pretty much about p gems now for rerolling n stuff, thats why i always picked up those flawless's.

When I played the game, I used to pick them up whenever I started up a new character and played with it through some of normal mode. I used to just transfer them over to a mule that had a magical Caduceus and rolled it in hopes of getting some nice +skills on it, just as a little hobby. I didn't make much of a deal of it, but rolling things is fun for me.

I also pick them up. Having two versions of Diablo II and LOD, and two sets of cd-keys, muling isn't that much of a hassle. I always cube them up in order to get to perfects (of course with the combination of other gems I find). Some people might think it's not worth the time, but you get to higher gems rather fast with all the chipped gems I find during Act I runs.

I always pick them up when I'm starting a new character. Since they're quite common and they're worth 250 gold each, it's a good way to get money when you'l starting out.
