Phoenix Strike vs. Kickers

Phoenix Strike vs. Kickers

Hi everyone, I've made 2 kick/trap hybrid sins and in hell difficulty I cannot do ANY damage. I've got my dragon talon up to level 30 and various traps up to level 32. Dragon talon does a whopping (sarcastic) 1.5k damage and my traps range from 1 - 4000+ damage. That seems nice, but when i'm in 8 player games I can't seem to scratch the enemy. One thing I see lacking in these builds is crowd control. I'm trying to build a sin that can solo it in 8 player games. I'm not rich, but i've got decent gear.

So here's the question: Phoenix Strike or Dragon Talon/Tail? I see a lot of kicker/trap hybrids around, but it seems that phoenix strike or even tiger strike would be a better choice mainly due to the shear damage (tiger strike) and due to the crowd control (phoenix strike). So if you guys could drop me a line and help me out, i'd appreciate it! Thanks.

Dtalon most definitely.

The reason you can't kill things is that kickers aren't the best in huge parties. They are decent against a single monster, but the phys damage is reduced to nothing and CB is hugely nerfed. Your looking in the wrong place for a party friendly char. I pure trapper will rape PvM no matter how many people are in the game with decent gear, but a kicker is more of a solo char, as well as an excellent boss killer.

Phoenix/Tiger Strikers are no more effective in parties than a kicker. They are even less effective solo. PS just don't have the damage or the speed, and TS is just slow and is terrible crowd control.

How can any sin lack crowd control when you have CoS and MB?

If you want to play at player 8 games, you'd better get a weapon with static. In any case, you are not going to be a lightning sorc or hammerdin.
