Phoenix Strike, Next Delay Concerns

Phoenix Strike, Next Delay Concerns

Ok

from what I read, chain lightning (2nd charge of Phoenix) will shoot 3-4 bolts in different directions (N,S,E,W)
and if those 3-4 bolts hit 3-4 other monsters, those 3-4 other monsters themselves will produce 3-4 bolts and hit the other 3-4 and maybe the source of the originial bolt of lightning?

like, I hit target A with 2nd Charge of Phoenix, and the bolt jumps to target B
then B will produce a bolt of it's own, and attack target A for the second time?

if that is accurate, how does the next delay come into play here?
so does that mean target A cannot be hit by the bolt that B reflected?
what happens?
I hit A, it reflects on to B, but because of next delay, that bolt won't hit a, but look for a target C instead?

if so, doesnt this significantly decrease the 2nd phoenix's effectiveness?
it's my main group killer in 1.09 ... and my levelling tool

IIRC, any monster under a nextdelay timer cannot be hit by any skill that has a nextdelay.

So yeah, any form of chain lightning, including PS, is seriously less effective against smaller packs.

The chain lightning hits at most twice. Once on the initial hit, then a possible second time depending on whether or not the lightning makes its way back without obstacles in the way (towards the end of the cl graphic)

In regards to the bolts you're referring to, I've never heard of it. I've always thought that the nextdelay for cl was when you 'chained' two chain lightnings consecutively, which isn't too difficult.
