    PETA hits new low

I guess they really don't have respect for anything... at least anything involving human beings.

Yeah way to take use the deaths of 15 innocent women (I gather from this article, I don't know what actually happened) to twist around your own faulted sympathy campaign. GG PETA no re.

I second that. It would help with this overpopulation situation and possibly even with evolution... :D

I guess if the PETA campaign is for "Hit them where it hurts" mentality, it is working.

edit: On an unrelated note: How about a Trout upgrade?

Pummeling PETA members with sides of beef should be an olympic sport.

Well seeing that Ash+Durf viewing, Muahahahaanakha!
Thanks for the Trout old geezer.

It would help the conversation of non-americans to know what PETA stands for, but I guess if you don't know it's better not to post?

The sensationalimic(sp) approach of course makes this advertisement sprout it's own advertisements thus getting national coverage for a small campaign. That's what I call cost effective! On the moral side though, I don't know if it is bad publicity, but I've heard some views supporting the idea that there is no such thing as bad publicity so...

If it hasn't come to you yet, I'm against this kind of brutal approach. The main reason being that there is probably very little chance that any of the contaminated meat hit the shops, thus making the main point void(in my mind).

Damn PETA, claim to have the moral high ground and they're doing crap like this.

On the plus side years of not eating meat means they'll be weak and easy to beat on. Hell a mild breeze could do them in.

As I was opening this thread, I was thinking "I really don't think they could get any lower in my book."

And what do you know, they did.

I'm not sure this brings them any lower than their "Let's tell children that their parents are murderers" campaign.

They've already hit rock bottom in my book.

Perhaps we should send Anakha with a large trout and let him slap some sense into them.

If there was a fruit that genetically altered to produce the same benefits as meat, people would still eat meat cuz of the taste.

I was involved with an organization like Peta before. There's a lot to learn from them if you give them a chance.

Like learn how to teach children to hate their parents? Learn how to use the tragic murders of over a dozen innocent people to further their own goals? Learn how to completely disregard rational or compassionate thought and logic for their own misguided extremism? I think we can do without that kind of education, thanks.

not only that, but people like variety. why have watermelons when we've already got apples and oranges? who needs salmon roe if there's chicken eggs?

we could reduce everyone's consumption to probably 1 type of animal, 2 fruits and 3 vegetables. would anyone want to? if there was a pill invented that could replace 3 daily meals, would everyone take that instead?

Bold claim. Can't be true. Or possibly teach children to hate bad parents. You gotta hate some parents if they're molesting them.

We talking about Peta or Bush Adminstration?

    Al Quaida?

You seem to equate Peta to the level or two terrorist organizations. Peta can be just your friendly neightbor or the helpful bus driver. Nothing that extreme as you mention.

Probably three or four years ago, PETA mounted my personal favorite campaign: FISH IN TANKS? NO THANKS!, against keeping fish as pets. I still get a laugh out of that one.

But seriously, PETA's national name recognition has been really declining of lately. In fact, the only way they have been able to break into the news at all is with their outrageous ad campaigns (anyone see last year's with a naked pamela anderson?). It doesn't surprise me at all that PETA would make an ad like this; they have very little tact, respect and judgement in these matters.

have you been paying attention to the thread?

in case you didn't know, terrorists don't often parade the fact that they're terrorists until they actually go bomb something. that friendly neighbour could be packing some pipe bombs in his basement. and if PETA goes the way of greepeace, they're another step closer to terrorism.
