Pepsi product "throwbacks"
I heard about these in February and got really excited. A quick story from last night:
I went to the grocery store real quick to pick up a candy bar, soda, and movie (if anything good, there wasn't). I grab a Mountain Dew and as I take a taste I notice that it doesn't taste the same. It tastes slightly more citrus-y and less sweet. It was really good but I checked to see if I had grabbed the wrong product. Nope; it was a throwback: a pepsi product made with sugar as opposed to HFCS.
I know these are only really here for passover but if you like soda but want a better taste I recommend stocking up. Yes, HFCS and sugar have basically the same caloric content and are supposedly the same sweetness, but you really can taste a difference. I've loved Mt. Dew for a long time now but the natural sugar version is better.
For those who want Coke they do the same thing but don't rename their product; I think yellow-capped bottles of Coke are natural sugar versions. Latino markets also carry natural sugar Coke year round.
