there is also science to males liking younger females and females liking older males.

i'm tired right now and don't wanna get too detailed but in general:

for males:

younger females are more fertile, young-healthy (old age can bring about many complications with reproduction for females and their babies), and attractive/beautiful (duh). more eggs still left. etc.

for females:

older males are more stable (settled down, economically stable, more "fatherly", etc)

My little princess at the age of 7 went through a period of humping her pillow in an obviously masterbatory fashion. She hadn't picked it up from her environment, friends or family ... she "discovered" it all by herself.

for me, here's my view/opinion:

a person who has reached maturity (able to have/engage in sex. puberty. movement of the egg into uterus from egg sacs/fallopoian tube and menstrual cycle, her period, in females. production of sperm and erection ability in males) is obviously "qualified" to have sex. anything before this (younger than maturity. "pre-pubescience") totally grosses me out and is wrong and criminal.

as for human society and laws, whatever is the "agreed upon" (law) is fine with me (as long as it's an age of maturity. see above). any sex before the legal age should be punished (if caught, anyways). of course an adult and non-adult is punished more severly, but if two "kids-teens" have sex with each other under the legal age it's a crime as well and should be punished (if caught anyways).

a big problem for males:

a female ~ from age 13-26 CAN look the same (some times in general). people need to understand this and have some leniency for the male. it's hard to tell if a female is 13 or 26.

Anyway, OP, I read the article and it is indeed an interesting read. I'm not sure I agree with the whole thing though. For instance, the author suggests that mothers loving and fostering their own children is not an inate behavior, but rather it is something that has only been taught in recent times. This does not seem possible. Even animals care a great deal about their offspring. I believe the author is traumatized by all his research--which focuses on purely negative nightmarish stuff--so his 'findings' are very biased.

It's kind like the on the Dr. Phill show how Dr. Phill insists that all marijuana use will always lead to death or imprisonment. Dr. Phill has witness much of the bad (in fact the worse cases), yet he has not seen all the times where illegal drugs have helped people deal with stress, or got used recreationally, and no addiction or problems with the law occured, no lives were drastically harmed. I believe the author of this article has the same problem of only seeing the torture acts of parents.

Also, OP, I wish you had focused/posted/polled on the overal theme of child abuse in the article rather than pedophilia exclusively. It is an emotionally charged issue, needless to say. That said, I think everyone should read the article.

A final note: sure, children where treated horrifically in past times, but you know what? So were women, so were men, so were slaves, POWs, the elderly, and so were minority races. Everyone was treated with brutality, not just children. Although the article addresses this and even explains it with a psychoanalytical approach, the author seems to portray other non-child groups as being treated normally while only children ever suffered.

I think its not in this article but that deMause guy explains that part very good aswell. If you look at apes which are the (closest to us) you will be astonished to see that mothers only care about the kids aslong as they breast feed them gaining sexual pleasure from the process. The apes NEVER ever give any food to their kids. To the contrary it has been often observed that mothers take food away from the kids if the food is rare.
If this stuff interests you i highly suggest reading other articles on the same site. SOmewhere is the thing about apes too.

Maybe its again a matter of the article. In an other he tells about those crazy penis off-choping indians and killing frenzies so common in primitive societies.
The focus on child abuse is there to show how overall aggressivness decreases ONLY after childrearing imprvouves. He proves it on various examples on severel historical generations.
Again, read the others too. Its a fun read.

As long as nobody is FORCED and nobody gets injured, let them do what they want. you'd be amazed if you knew what kids get up to.It is quite natural for kids of even 3 to 4 to play sexual games such as "doctor",or to sort of masturbate.
This whole thing has become the new witchhunt,replacing that of the middle ages.The US especially have gone way overboard! Remember the swiss kid who was locked up for touching a girls p****y?
Those weeks in jail did much more damage than any act of sex could ever have done.
In the US You must be 18 to get killed in Iraq,and 21 to have a beer!!Lighten up,you guys!

I think I see where you're coming from, and normally I'd agree with you that executing pedo's is not the best solution especially with the examples you've shown above. The issue is not so black and white as one might think.

However when it comes to possibility of some pedo messing around with my daughter, I lose any reasonableness I may have and I find that hanging 'em doesn't seem so outrageous. Its wrong that I feel this way, but I really don't care when it comes to my daughters well being.
