    Paladin question

hope this is the right place, am guessing SC paladins maybe dont appreciate death means death here

am making my first ever pala, and i'd like some advise on a safish build. have lost 2 sorcs in a week so decided to try someone with hopefully a bit more surviveability

i know there is a host of info in the pala forums on builds, and i'll go look up anything thats suggested here, just after some very rough guidlines really

    thx in advance

Hammerdin with max block no energy and lots of Vita is pretty good just beware of Fire Enchanted foes.

Hammeradins are pretty easy to make on budget gear

    Spirit sword
    Spirit sheild
    Peasent crown/tarn helm/+skill circlet/cracked skullcap
    Viper magi/stealth/etc

It's enough where you can dominate normal/nightmare and then gear yourself up for hell.

if you have the gear for it you can do one with no str (enigma) nough dex for max block and the rest in vit.. otherwise add as little str as possible then dex for block and rest in vit... it will cut your health that way but its still pretty safe.

    Re: Paladin question

If you aim for 75fcr and a decent amount of damage while maintaining a high degree of survivability, and is on a tight budget, the following half-decent equipment can be acquired for PGs:

    Armor: Guardian Angel
    Weapon: Spirit (pref. 30+ fcr)
Shield: Spirit (pref. 30+ fcr) ---> ideally 65 fcr combined in weap+shield
    Helmet: Peasant Crown / Tarnhelm
Ammu: Blue or yellow with some Pally skills and res.
Rings: Raven/Dwarf (if you can get 75fcr from spirits + ammu - otherwise one 10fcr ring and one raven/dwarf).
    Belt: String of Ears
    Boots: Waterwalks

A pally wearing this equipment can get 95/90/90/90 resists and at the same time have some DR. A major upgrade in the equipment will of course be a Harlequin Crest with an added skillpoint and extra DR.

The 118 str req. for guardian angel will really hurt your vitality - especially if you focus on max block. So another account with a BO-slave or a friend with a BO-barb will help you immensely.

And remember: One point in redemption - especially if your merc isn't carrying an insight. This will mean life+mana between encounters.

Hope this helps just a little.

Frost zealot is very cheap too and can get you to hell without any difficulties.

In Hell it starts to get slow and erm... interesting, but imho he's a very safe starter character.

All you need is a decent Crushing Blow weap, craft some blood gloves (Crushflange for instance will get you all the way through Nightmare without a probbie and you should be able to get one for 1 pgem or something :), Strength Runeword is dirt cheap as well).

A freaking Shard is all it takes for a Hammerdin to kick this games ***! Hell you dont even need block if you play it right without it!
