Our next big project: The best possible mana regeneration

Here's the name of the game.. make a sorceress that regenerates the most mana per second possible. We're talking top of the line taking everything into account here. Assume she's level ninety nine with all the ideal gear.

I'm working on this setup right now. Trying to figure out if there's a better choice for armor then a jeweler's gothic of -40 req with four psapphires in it. Here's the plan I have so far.. it seems so cookiecutter.

Shako w/ psapphire or vex, not sure yet
    Wizspike w/ -15 req/9 strg jewel
    Jeweler's gothic of -40 reqs w/ 4 psapphires
    08 lancegaurd w/ vex OR
Jeweler's monarch of -40 reqs w/ 4 vex's (a raw 200 mana bonus BUT even with the minus reqs it has a high strength req)
    Frostburns
Gloom's trap OR Nightsmoke OR some sort of crafted belt
    Silkweaves

Inventory filled with mana charms to the brim.

So post your ideas on the gear. eventually I want to make this sorcie off ladder but I should be able to get most anything you people throw in the mix. It should be interesting. remember, we're going for the most mana regenerated per second.

did you consider using any P skuls? They give like 14% regen in armor.

I have a four pskull armor, it gives I think 7x replenish mana, but with warmth so high you may benifit more from the raw mana bonus. I'd have to check though, and I will a bit later

More mana = more regen/sec. Don't know better suggestions than you already placed :)

I'm kind of curious what the point is though...so what if you regen 500 mana per second...it does nothing for you otherwise...

Its cuz people like to do things like this. There doesn't have to be a reason for it. The point is that certain people like to build pointless characters.

    As for the Mana-queen

What kind of jewelery are you considering? I'm guessing 2x SoJ. For rare amulet I'm thinking of Archangels, Great Wyrms, OF wizardry ?? (+2 sorc skills, +90mana, + 20energy)
or a magic amulet: Bahamut's of Engligtenment (+120mana, +30 energy)

You should party with a Meditation pally. For theoretical purposes only, you can find a Mana Regeneration Shrine.

With items you calculate the extra regneration rate like this

    (BaseRegenrate*Warmth)+item
Now what is the BaseRegenerate :p ?
    anyone knows?
So you need to find the equipment that will give you the most mana and the highest extra regeneration rate. There are alot of items that have both on them actually.
2 SOJ should in it i guess ;)

i was wondering about the equation myself. the closest equations i can give are based on a few tests i did that showed with no mana regen you get full mana in 2 min. right now i can't think of how to incorporate that into the equation provided by malianor.

even if the eqn is 09, if anyone knows it speak up.

The equation can easilly be found on the Summit:

ok, how does the eqn (base regen*warmth) + items factor in?

what is the base regen? im guessing its class dependant.

It's probably a number someone derived by re-writing the equation from the Summit. There is no "base regen" defined within the game though. To get the %Mana Regeneration simply add all such factors...the % as listed from Warmth plus all items that have a % faster mana regeneration. I'm not 100% on shrines and Meditation Aura, but they probably fall into this factor too.
