OTF Weather Check! Well, spring has sprung! The car connoisseurs have un-garaged the sports cars; major league baseball has commenced; deciduous trees are greening again, people are wearing shorts, beaches are becoming more popular, school is almost out for many, yadda yadda yadda. THEN there's Alaska, which doesn't play by the rules. This morning it was -12*F outside at my house. I also flew to the following places last week: (first week of spring, mind you) Prudhoe Bay: -32*F with 20 knots wind, windchill about -70 Kotzebue: -26*F with 14 knots wind, wintchill about -50 Kotzebue again: -26*F with no wind Dillingham: -19*F with light wind, windchill about -30 McGrath: -41*F with no wind (but still DAMN cold) So it's still full winter here. Cold, dry air. My driveway has 3 inches of solid, clear ice on it, covered by a few inches of packed snow. The snow pile on my lawn (consisting of snow I've shoveled from the driveway all winter) is still taller than I am. All sidestreets are still under solid, packed snow. So, how's the weather everywhere else?
