OT: What kind of Music Do you Listen to?

Well i like the idea of sharing the music that you listen to.
Right now i Have some Deltron 3030 going(notsurehowtclassify) I also was listening to some marley earlier. I really like older R&B that's some good music, no real obsenities(sp) but really nice beat and feel. I also really like some "alternitive" and Punk. And of course Classical, (comes from playing the cello) Of course their is green day, the newish cd was really great IMO. I almost forgot Sublime, great stuff lost my detox cd though(darn). Thats all off the top of my head.

I like heavy metal, although sometimes punk and more pop-ish rock (greenday is a good example) is good too. My favourite bands would be iron maiden, marilyn manson (even if he is a freak) and the union underground.

Started out as a Maiden-Fan as well.

Now it is more spread out, still metal and rock music (Metallica, Iced Earth, Monster Magnet, Ozzy, ...) but also industrial (C&C 1 soundtrack anyone?), house, trance and lounge music, depending on my mood and situation I'm in.

Up the irons!

I really like 90s rock, say STP, Smashing Pumpkins, Collective Soul, Alice in Chains, 7 Mary 3, Bush, Our Lady Peace, Nirvana, Toadies, Sublime.

Hope I didn't leave anyone out, my mp3 folder will become a hotbed of politico angst and controversy. King Korn may have to issue a few edicts.... wait, I left out Korn? WTFH!

and edit: HAha, i left you out metallica. SCREW YOU!

I love listening to music, and I love pretty much every genre out there...My two main genres are heavy metal and pop music, but really anything goes, although I don't like jazz, opera and most classical stuff..

Chimaira (of course:), Deftones, Britney Spears, Slipknot, Muse, Dido, JJ72, System Of A Down, Jewel, Rammstein, Jay-Z, Linkin Park, Eminem...well basically anything as long as it's good.

Hard to classify. i'll just list off some names (gotta love the name dropping game)

The Mars Volta - Definatly at the top
Modest Mouse
Pixies
Radiohead
Paco de Lucia
Fink Ployd
Kyuss
Nirvana (obviously)
Moxy Fruvous (Hooray for liberal hippies)
Meat Puppets.

So mostly alt rock/experimental sorta stuff.

Spot the odd one out..:p
I used to be a big Metallica fan, but there last album (st anger) sucked. But there older stuff is still amazing. Also, they were the first really big rock band i saw live, yep, that was damn good fun. Oh, and i couldnt give a damn about how they sort of went a bit mad with power and annoyed alot of fans, i like the music. :)

More alt stuff.

Wilco
Old 97's
Slobberbone
Josh Ritter
Matthew Ryan
Josh Rouse

I've been doing a bunch of recording in my home studio lately, so I've been listening to a bunch of my own stuff to spot flaws or to see where I need to layer on an additional guitar or vocal track. Been talking with a bass player I know, might get together with his band for a few local gigs around LA.

You played cello, too? How long? I played for 4 years in elementary & middle (not exactly a "band" instrument) and I can still pick a single instrament out of live performances. I love Vivaldi.

I enjoy almost any music except hard rap and country. Also some 80s bad synth annoys me as do several boy bands and their female counterparts.

Have to agree with you there on both accounts. GnR had some brilliant songs, and AC-DC are legends. speaking of legends, the gods of rock, led zepplin.:music:

EDIT: scrap that, they seem to have announced leeds and reading festival. Leeds sucks, so i'll probably try and go to reading.

I'm basically a metal head. \m/ I prefer Thrash Metal and Power Metal as a my second favourite style. My favourite band is Kreator (german thrash), but I like much other bands too, like Grave Digger, Iced Earth, Exodus, Metallica, Megadeth, Machine Head, Slayer, RatM (rap rock)... Basically the metal from the 80's and 90's! :D
