OT: Starcraft Tech Support Help (IPX)

    Hey all,

So we set up another computer in my house last night and try to play 3 player starcraft over IPX. My comp and my roommates comp work fine, but the third comp won't connect.

The third comp runs Windows Xp. We stuck an old NIC in it and it worked fine. It could connect to the internet fine (and could even play starcraft over b.net) but wouldn't connect over the IPX. It would see the games on the screen but when you clicked it it said Unable to join.

I checked every setting I know how to under IPX properties and all and it seems the same as on my roommates comp (who also runs XP).

Does anyone know how to get it to work?

    Thanks in advance,
    Garbad

Did you try putting another NIC in it and see if that would work?

Can't you just play over TCP/IP then? Or doesn't Starcraft support that?

Yeah, the cables are good. Our neighborhood has a LAN that gives us all broadband. Two of the comps can play over b.net, but one won't. Two will play over IPX, but one wont (a different one is the problem.)

My comp -- runs win 2000, works on ipx or bnet
downstairs -- runs winxp works on ipx, not bnet
upstairs -- runs winxp works bnet, nto ipx

All three comps can see each other on neighborhood network, can use the internet, etc. :(
