    My current desktop is:

    P3 997 MHz (Coppermine)
384 MB 133 MHz Ram (upgraded this)
    32 MB geforce 2 GTS (OC'ed a little 220/200(400 effectively)
    40GB HDD
    WinXp Sp1 home
    17" CRT

 well, it plays UT2004 at 1024x800 with 'acceptable framerates' with all the options to minimum

    My mom's laptop:

    P4 2,6 GHz
512 MB ram (no idea what type)
    40 GB HDD
    WinXP home

Not too sure on the more detailed specs...
pretty good for gaming this one.

And then there's the laptop I'll be getting in a month and a half, because it currently resides with US based friends:

    Dell Inspiron XPS gen 2
    P-M 760 2,0 GHZ
    1GB DDR2 533 MHZ RAM
GeForce Go 6800 ULTRA 256MB DDR3 (sadly not OC'able (yet))
    60GB 7200 RPM HDD
    17" WUXGA screen
    2 hours battery life
    8,6 lbs
    chassis with LED's built in
:uhhuh: :D Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Abit nf7-s Moded w/voltage switch and south bridge cooler (what can I say... I'm a geek)
    AMD 3200+
    1 GB dual Geil pc3200
    160 gb SATA Segate HD
Radeon 9800 pro w/ice-q heatsink (very overclockable) :D
    52x liteon CD-RW
    16x dual layer liteon DVD-RW
    22" monitor

... and my case is modded with 8 fans (4 intake in front, 4 exhaust (2 back, 1 top, 1 door)), a tornado on the proc (for heavy overclocking), and black lights and glowing stuff all around. It's my baby. Kind of overkill for D2 but when Battlefield 2 comes out...

    2x WD Raptor 2 74GB in RAID 0

I need a sound card. Anyone have any recommendations (under $100USD)? Right now I am using onboard sound, and it is okay, but I would really like better quality.

    I actually got 2 computers :)

    First one:
    1,8Ghz
    512 RAM
    60 GIG HD
    19' Normal Screen
    Some crappy GeForce graphiccard

    Other one:
    3,6Ghz
    1028Ram
250Gig HD with an 150 removable HD that you can connect to other comp's bia USB.
    19' FlatScreen
    Some kickass NVidia graphiccard.

I usually use the first one. Me not a fan of flatscreens.

that's not bad at all, should be able to handle most modern games.
but if you want to play them with full eye-candy at 50-60 fps, you need something faster
    (I'm talking doom 3)

Some of you guys have pretty nice comps.

The one i'm typing right now is an old comp:

    AMD k6-3 400mhz (woohoo!)
    nvidia 16mb Graphics card
    384mb ram
    .....

I use to play D2 back in the day on that one but barely got 8fps ... maybe. The kids play their simple games on it now and I surf the 'net etc.

I play D2 on my laptop which ain't exactly great neither but it gets the job done:

    Celeron 800mhz
    256mb ram
    16mb Vid Card(?)
    ...

Ijust bought a really cheap Dell comp that has everything including XP Home for peanuts. Only thing missing is the monitor but I have an extra one at home.

Also going to piecemeal some good parts for my spare Antec case and PSU.

    amd duron 1200
    384 MB ram
    geforce mx400 64MB
    80GB harddrive

i can play and do my school work which workes for now

when i get the money and longhorn is here:p i might buy a new computer after my specs(if i have the money needed)
