OT: Path of Exile Guild

Hey everybody

For those of you who are playing PoE (I play both because I'm greedy), I have created an SPF only guild. My plan is to wait until a decent number of SPFers are in the guild (of those that play anyway) and then take a vote for a new leader, so let me know if you want to be considered for that

Haven't played POE for quite a while. Just logged back in and see all my characters have had their skills reset. I guess my arm could be twisted to sort them out and give it a go again.

If I was to get back into POE. I guess I'd need to know how things have changed with the whole new Sacrafice of Vaal patch.

My previous favourite character was an 87 shadow using dual strike as a main attack?

Is a build based around this still viable. (Too lazy to do extensive searching at the moment).

I probably shouldn't give much advice, considering my highest character just got to merciless, but that should still work. You'll definitely need life on hit/melee splash to stay alive though

I'll need a 6-link to add melee splash but that was in the plans at some stage.

I should be able to get by without life on hit even though I see Vaal Pact appears to be nerfed. 12% LL from passives plus 9% from my claws should still give me a decent amount of instant life return I imagine.

I need to make up a skill tree to post really.

Isn't life leech capped at 20% anyway? And now you only get it for the first of the same atack? That's how I understood the patch. But then I don't really understand much.

Life on hit isn't too rare so I'll keep one for you if it drops. I plan to buy a guild stash and a couple of tabs will basically be dedicated to skill gems.

Well, that is a lame requirement. I'll have to try and figure out what class to play or something.

As I recall it you always leeched the full amount but you could only gain 20% of your life in one go. The additional leech was delayed. Vaal Pact or (using a Bloodseeker claw) overcame this limit though and applied the full amount instantly. At least that's how I remember it.

It always used to work for all attacks in multistrike. Will need to check the patch notes on that I guess. I've done some reading but haven't come across any info in that regard yet.

Edit: Seems like some major changes to leech. I guess I'll have to see how things go. I've put together a basic skill tree which should hopefully work. I will still have 10 points left to add for more damage or life as I feel required.
