I play fantasy football, but if you want specific advice I'd say narrow it down, if you had a list of players you were considering maybe I could offer my input

I was looking for advice mostly about quarterbacks or defenses that will statistically do well this season..for my quarterbacks its a tie between
Micheal Vick- Falcons
Donovan Mcnabb- Eagles
Both are flyin high with there bird teams but which QB will fall in the end?
My 2 other positions i could use help on would be defense and running back

Runnings back position between
Duece Mccalister- Saints
Duece Staley- Steelers
Domanick Davis- Texans
or some good old Stephen Davis- Panthers
Duece/Duece/Davis/Davis will be the quads i will have to break down to starting RB and 2nd string ( ofcourse i will have to try to draft these players first but im hoping to have 2 out of the 4 i just want your guys advice on which ones to try drafting first.

My Defense position i pick by team not by individual players so im not looking for one talented player but one Smashmouth defense ive narrowed it down between
Steelers Defense- joey porter and company
Redskins defense- Lavar Arrington and company
Whats your pick if not these two..Ahead of time thanx for all suggestions regarding these topics

Also if you could pick the rookie who will now have the most impact this year?

My suggestion would be to pick guys that are conistent.(Tend to stay healthy and put up good numbers each year)

Micheal Vick, yeah he is good, but with as much running as he does it would surprise me if he gets injured. At QB, I would go with P Manning. Last years MVP and never misses a game.

At running their are a handful of good ones, like Holmes, Faulk, Green, and the guy from the Charges(Tomlinson?).

To stay in the top of the pack in fantasy sports games it isnt that first or second round guy that wins it. It usually takes a few late round sleepers that have breakout years that puts you on top.

oh yea, I wouldn't touch the dolphins they're lookin cursed of late, just lost another player

McCallister is leaps and bounds ahead of the other RBs you mention but Dominick Davis ain't a bad pick

QB is hard to pick, both of those guys have been injured, I'd pick McNabb but Peerless Price has to play well methinks for Vick to have a real good year, they don't have much at receiver after him-just Finneran and Woody Dantzler? hmm...thats weird if it's correct, atleast Philly has guys who have started and contributed after Owens

I think the redskins D has taken a hit losing Trotter & Bailey, but an improved offense could give them a little rest

the Steelers don't look that good to me this year, I'm not sold on Maddox, but their D looks more or less intact

as for a rookie, gee

there are some first year players like Grossman & Palmer at QB that might do terrible or surprise, I'm banking on terrible

theres Williams at WR in Detroit, depending how banged up Charlie Rogers is, I like the improvements in Detroit

running back is usually the best bet for a stand out rookie, of those drafted, probably only Chris Perry has a shot now, but guys like Stephen Jackson, all 3 Jones' and Tatum Bell could jump into the fray, but there is little chance they'll be drafted unless something big happens just keep an eye on them as free agents

I think its the second year players that need you'd need to keep an eye on, guys like Griffin in Denver or Onterrio Smith in Minnesota, just look at roster movements if you want to try picking a sleeper

Steelers are my team. And I also have a public Yahoo! draft the 14th. Positions in order of importance are RB, WR, QB, Defense, and TE/K.

I'm going to try picking Ahman Green first. He's a solid back, and him and Favre go very well together. Other good running backs are Clinton Portis, LaDainian Tomlinson, Priest Holmes, Stephen Davis, Shaun Alexander, Domanick Davis, Deuce McAllister, and Travis Henry. However, San Diego lost almost all their linemen, so Tomlinson is iffy. Stephen davis and Travis Henry both have to share with young running backs, so they're iffy. The others are very solid picks though. Staley has a shaky offensive line in the Steelers, and I hope we (I am part of that team, worship them since birth) can fix that with Starks. Rookie RBs can be a real steal also, like Portis in his rookie year.

Wide recievers: Randy Moss, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Hines Ward, Terrell Owens, many others. I'm going to try and get Moss, he's very solid and has great numbers. Holt shares with Bruce, Ward shares with Burress, Moulds has to share with Evans I believe. Also, Moulds/Ward/Burress have rookie Qbs watching from the sidelines, so their production could stop once they come in. Rookies performing like Charlie Rogers, who was doing great til he got hurt, can be gems in later rounds.

Quarterbacks aren't as important as many think, but Vick and McNabb are very good running ones. Plummer is as well, as is McNair. Solid pocket passers are Manning, Hasselback, Johnson, Green, Bulger, Brady, and Favre. Maddox is good with a good o-line, but he can be shaky if not. Delhomme is over-rated IMO, Harrington now has a pair of good, young recievers.

Defense, Steelers have solid line and linebackers, especially with LeBeau coming back Blitzburgh will rise again. However, secondary is alittle shaky, Chad Scott sucks and 1st/2nd year players will get chances often. Ravens will have a solid defense, Patriots will have the best defense IMO. Eagles, Steelers, Bucs, and Colts will all be gambles that could pay off. Remember, you can still pick up players, so kickers/defenses are not that hgih of priority. Just don't get Arizona :). Secondaries like Vikings/Dolphins will get any interceptions.

Tight ends, Alge Crumplers, Tony Gonzalez, Shockey, and Randy McMicheal are all top-tier. Kickers are Wilkins, Elam, Vanderjagt are all great. These spots can be easily be filled by low end ones though.

Hope this helps, and here's to Roethlisberger/Maddox leading the Steelers to the Super Bowl! :drink:

QB - Michael Vick, if he stays healthy, he will rack up the points for your team. Peyton Manning is always a good chance, as he is consistently the best QB statistically every year. Other players for later rounds: McNair, McNabb, Hassleback, Bulger

RB - No Doubt, LaDanian Tomlison, he is the best back in the NFL today, easily. 1000 Rushing + 100 Catches is amazing, especially under the horrible line that San Diego has. Stephen Davis is always a great choice, because he gets it done, but he won't get as many carries this year as he did last year, as DeShaun Foster will be getting more and more carries each year. Other Choices: Ahman Green, Deuce McAllister, Priest Holmes, Shaun Alexander, Clinton Portis

WR - Marvin Harrison/TO/Randy Moss/Plaxico Burress/Hines Ward/Charlie Rogers/Torry Holt/Steve Smith/Anquan Boldin. All good picks I think, you can also snatch up Roy Williams from the Lions in the very late rounds as a sleeper pick, because With Joey Harrington/Charlie Rogers/Roy Williams, he might have a very productive season as a rookie, maybe not as good as Boldins rookie season, but possibly could be up there.

TE - Marcus Pollard from the Colts. Alge Crumpler, Bubba Franks, Ben Troupe(very possible sleeper pick, since Wychek retired) Any of those are good, Tony G. is the best TE in the game right now, but I'd rather lose a few points and snatch up Marcus Pollard in the later rounds and pick up someone more important like a WR/Running Back .

Kicker - Vanderjagt/Elam/Kasay/Carney(LOL! j/k), Vanderjagt would be the obvious choice here, but theres a few others you could pick.

Defense - A few picks here. You could get an Improved panthers defense from last year. Mark Fields returning, panthers signing Brandon Short and Jessie Armstead, could give them one of the deepest possible linebacking cores in the NFL. With already starting Will Witherspoon and Dan Morgan, with mark Fields coming in, could have a very strong linebacking core this season. The secondary was improved by bringing in Attrell Hawkings and Terrance Shaw. With the front 4 still being the most dominate front 4 in the NFL, they would be the safest pick imo.

You could still go with the Patriots, since they signed Vince Wilfork to take the place of Ted Washington, they wont be as strong as they were on the D-Line, but Wilfork is a very solid DT and can hold his own very well. You could also go with the Vikings, as they have improved there defense in every way possible. Signing Udeze from USC was probably there biggest D-Line move in a while.

Thats just my 2 cents, feel free to use any of the info :p

Panthers lost some corners, which is the only problem for me. Unless Chirs Gamble can step it up, no field goals or running TDs will get by, but I see many passing ones coming.

And dhale made a good point about Detroit: this team will be very scary in the future, I'm picking them as my favorite NFC team now, just because they've drafted very well past 2 years. Rogers, Williams, and Kevin Jones is no joke either.

Yeah, I can understand how the loss of the cornerbacks for the panthers would worry some people, but from watching every panther game last year, the Cornerbacks that they lost, were not that great anyway. Terry Cousin was decent, but he shortly fell off, Reggie Howard was pretty good as well...but nothing that couldn't be replaced. Rciky Manning was clearly the best Cornerback that the panthers hand, and while he may be undersized, he makes up for it in his drive and determination(ripping the ball out of holts hands in the Rams playoff game is a good example, if he didnt do that, we might have lost that game). . We also lost Free Safety Deon Grant, Who was probably the best secondary player that we lost. But I think that Travares Tillman can replace him.

And Like you said, Chris Gamble might need a little bit of time to adjust, but I think he will be a very good Starting 2nd cornerback.

Edit: And about the Detroit Lions, I have Kevin Jones as my starting Running Back, because I couldn't get LT. They will be a VERY good team in the future, if they dont get plagued with injuries.

For a sleeper at WR, go for Justin McCareins (sp) (Titans), last year he had a very solid season.

Favre is the most solid @ qb, and has never missed a game yet, but I think Leftwitch of the Jaguars is a good pick for your #1 qb's bye week, Vick already has had a minor injury in camp and I dont think he will last the full regular season.

Defense: Dre Bly all the way

Kicker: Longwell
