@ corax - Thanks for the storie M8 .... finally got a real woman ... one who can outdrunk you. LMAO! I feel like maybe I havent missed out on too much. So you guys are roughly 250 miles apart or so? Must be tough but you can still drive that in a few hours. Glad to see the both of you happy! BTW cor, did you ever decide to go to college?

@Jude, Rax, Kaysaar - First off, howdy Kaysaar, long time no see. Im doing well. I have a discussion topic that Im not sure ever got finished. In hand to hand mideval sp* later .. as in late 16th century knight would probably own a mongol warrior in hand to hand. When they clashed earlier they got pwnt by the Mongols simply because of the movement factor. The knights couldn’t keep up and the Mongols had arrows that could pierce armor. That’s why tons of Europeans have the Mongol blue butt. Lets switch things around for a second then. Single Mongol warrior vs. single Plains Indian of your choice. Who do you think would win that one? Similar style of combat, both experts of horse and bow. Aside from that, would either of you guys be willing to MP in an expansion? I only have the normal ones and I haven’t played through either.

@Muzz – I do miss many of the aspects of BG2. Probably one of the best games ever made. Your also invited if youd like to MP as well. ?

@reborn – Grats on the lady, was this perhaps the same girl that you were pining over and analyzing every detail about a year ago? Hehe. You will find that as a guy having a girlfriend is like having another job. (Preparing to get fired on from the ladies for that one.)

@Ana – Im patiently waiting, I love gossip!

@Rizzo – Howdy. Long time indeed. Im doing well and life is much better than the last time we spoke that’s for sure. Ive gotten a lot more taken care of and sort of changed some of my outlooks on life. It helped immensely to just look at things with a different attitude and rearrange my priorities. Things are great at home with my wife, job is tolerable, and Im going back to school to get some further education. MBA, and masters in computer science. After that I might do a PHD. My puppy is now grown and is about 90 lbs and while still a handful is a great dog. So, that’s life in a nutshell. How are you and your gf? Hows Denmark?

I can out drink Goltar but that's only b/c he dosen't drink. (issues with stupid people purposly killing off brain cells) That and I can't stay drunk. But I don't really see how much that matters.
And no I won't get on to you ronin, any relationship takes work, it's just that the work is fun (and about that point I call it "play", I refuse to "exersize" either) Guys are as much of a bother as girls.

As for the mongols vs. plains indians. I'd have to go with the mongols, the plains indians never really got untited like the mongol tribes. Now if Genghis has been born in NA instead of Asia, that would have been intresting.

Ronin - Let's see... I know more about the Mongol's than I do plains Indians, but I'd say the Mongol would win. While the Plain's Indians earned a reputation for fierceness and bravery, I think that the fact that the Mongol warriors were closer to professional soldiers than a plain's Indian would be. Fierceness and bravery count for a lot, but there's a point where superior training goes a long way.

I'm willing to be that the extreme harshness of the Mongolian Steppes would yield a horse that tends to be a tad more rugged than may have been. I also think that the Mongols would have had a riding advantage as well. While both peoples spent a great deal of time on horses, the Mongols had the advantage of the stirrup, which would have allowed them to use greater leverage in close range, and superior stability while firing an arrow while riding, as they could stand up off the horse, an advantage that the plains Indians would have lacked. The use of the stirrup also would have given the Mongol greater resistance to impact than a Plains Indian. If the Indian were to lose an arrow, or throw a spear, the Mongol could use a shield, and brace more thoroughly by pressing against his stirrup.

I also believe that the composite bows that the Mongols wielded gave them superior range and power over that of a plains Indian. Coupled with the fact that any Plains armor tended to be lacking. The first indication of armor in North America comes after the arrival of the Spanish, long after the era of the Mongols. However, through the Mongols' lengthy dealings with Europe and Asia, their armor would have been vastly superior to anything the Indians would have been able to develop. Because of this, the Mongol would have been able to withstand greater blows than the Indian.

@roninDOG: Go play those expansion packs! I've just started on the first, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Much more intelligent character interaction, more interesting dungeons, etc.. Many of the things I missed from BG2 are back :jig: Almost makes me wonder how they could've done such a sloppy job at NWN...

I'd be willing to try MP, at the very least. As for the mongol/indian: what Kaysaar said.

@corax: In my experience, a little distance isn't much of an issue if you're still able to see eachother fairly regularly. You'll push through. And I once had a girlfriend who could outdrink me as well. But she was older, so she had more time to practice :wink3:

@roninDOG: It's not the same girl. :wink3:
@corax: Well in the region I live in Schützenfests are tradition. Almost every town has an own one, hence I'm often on a Schützenfest... :wink3:

I'm afraid of the next half year. I will have a lot of stress. I will probably soon have my driver's license, but I have to learn a lot to get my A-levels, but I still want to see Sina and have to care for my family and friends, too... I hope I will be able to handle it all.

Even then, DM, even then. Balance between girlfriend and the rest of ones life is very important. You of all ppl should know the importance of yin and yang  .

so ana are you the yin or the yang :wink3:
Everything can be described as both yin and yang.

1. Yin and yang are opposites.

Everything has its opposite—although this is never absolute, only relative. No one thing is completely yin or completely yang. Each contains the seed of its opposite. For example, winter can turn into summer; "what goes up must come down".

2. Yin and yang are interdependent.

One cannot exist without the other. For example, day cannot exist without night. Light cannot exist without darkness.

3. Yin and yang can be further subdivided into yin and yang.

Any yin or yang aspect can be further subdivided into yin and yang. For example, temperature can be seen as either hot or cold. However, hot can be further divided into warm or burning; cold into cool or icy. Within each spectrum, there is a smaller spectrum; every beginning is a moment in time, and has a beginning and end, just as every hour has a beginning and end.

4. Yin and yang consume and support each other.

Yin and yang are usually held in balance—as one increases, the other decreases. However, imbalances can occur. There are four possible imbalances: Excess yin, excess yang, yin deficiency, and yang deficiency. During the switch to Daylight saving time, for example, there is more 'yin' than 'yang'. They can again be seen as a pair: by excess of yin there is a yang deficiency and vice versa. The imbalance is also a relative factor: the excess of yang "forces" yin to be more "concentrated".

5. Yin and yang can transform into one another.

At a particular stage, yin can transform into yang and vice versa. For example, night changes into day; warmth cools; life changes to death. However this transformation is relative too. Night and day coexist on Earth at the same time when shown from space.

6. Part of yin is in yang and part of yang is in yin.

The dots in each serve:
  • as a reminder that there are always traces of one in the other. For example, there is always light within the dark (e.g., the stars at night); these qualities are never completely one or the other.
  • as a reminder that absolute extreme side transforms instantly into the opposite, or that the labels yin and yang are conditioned by an observer's point of view. For example, the hardest stone is easiest to break. This can show that absolute discrimination between the two is artificial.

Yang, represented by the white in the yin-yang symbol, stands for the creative principle, while yin, represented by black, is dissolution and return (to creation). Yang came to represent hot, dry, male, light, hardness, movement and initiative. Yin symbolizes coolness, moistness, female, darkness, softness, stillness and receptivity.

Opposites actually contain the essence of each other, and eventually merge with each other.

Harmony is based on balancing yin and yang.

I think I'm a bit more yin...

Impressive, Ana.

May I give a little more on "are we Yin or Yang?" answer.

In Chinese tradition, Men -> Yang, Women -> Yin. However there is also a catch.

For men, the external system is Yang, however the internal is Yin. So we block, strong outside, with softness (usually hiden) inside.

For women, the external system is Yin, however the internal is Yang. So women look helpless outside, but inside, harder than any man.

In short, we block, hide our weakness, and show false "hardness" to others; while girls, show fales weakness, and hide true color inside.

So, never think women are weak, they are million times stronger than men.

Damn... now I'm confused... I don't think this quite applies to errr... us...
It applies to almost everyone at two levels.

1. Yin and Yang in Chinese medicine. Yin = cold, Yang = hot. For man, remember by nature, outside it hot, and inside it cold. For woman, by nature, outside is cold, inside is hot. This also involves Qi and other related issues.

2. People's mind. Man usually hide his true color and weakness. To show a man who has weakness is often a sham. However, man has a soft heart, only it can never be shown by action. Woman usually hide her true color, by nature, because people often see women = weakness. But by heart, woman can have the true cold blood, heartless, "iron" heart, or in simple - unbreakable mind. It works by pointing out, even the strongest man you believe, has a easy to break side, you just need to find it. However, even the weakest woman you might think, may have the hardest mind that nothing can break through.

One thing I like about it is how it explains the "opposites attract" statement.

BTW, ana, I don't suppose you'll be elaborating on your weekend? :wink3:

Ana

OMG, Muzzz... I was so hoping no one would ask...

But I'll elaborate then... :wink2:

I had a GREAT weekend!! Date went wonderfully well inspite of the rain... and yesterday a new record for me... 4 hours on the phone... And I have fallen... - completely and utterly - in love... and that at my age

Elaborating enough??
