i just got home from a week dealing with hospitals... i got my wisdom teeth out. now i am in a lot of pain and i feel like i am going to die. i can't even kiss my kremtok for at least another 2 weeks. SIGH. i am so sad. i think i am going to die.

My trip stunk. !st day there I lost my contact down the sink, I wear special (expensive) lenses and didn't have spares with me so I had to wear my glasses the whole time (and I don't see as well with them). So I ended up spending most of the time goltar was in meetings sitting at the hotel.
The one day I was gonna go swimming, they put chems in the pool so I couldn't.
On top of it I got a coupon in my e-mail that I couldn't print (no printer for the lap top) that was for a store there that normally the nearest one is 2 1/2 hours away, I went there hoping that they could use the code, but they couldn't.
And the resurant recomended by a co-worker who used to live in the area had the worst service that I've seen in 10 years, topped off with sub par food.
Oh, and not only did we forget to bring headache medicine /antiacids (we each thought the other had packed the little case) but then we left the cell phone charger there and will have to pay for them to mail it on Mon.
In short I'm sick of vactions, I just want to sit in my own living room, with my kitty, on my fast, secure connection.

Okay, life updates. My garden is growing well despite me having to abandon it for nearly a week. Thanks to all those who gave growing tips :thumbsup:
We look like we'll be getting another kitten tomorrow, if one of the litter (a co-worker is caring for until they all find homes) likes us that is.
And you may be seeing it on the news here in the US, but that lady in Virgina who was in a coma from cancer had her baby. I find that important beacuse she and her husband were people I went to school with. The alumus are very glad that her baby seems to be doing well and that her body was able to hold up an extra two weeks beyond the absolute minimum for the sake of the baby but very sad that it was her time to go.

How goes M8? Long time, I figured all the regulars have sort of drifted but here I see you post. Heh. How are things going? Back into D2? I have since gone through a few gaming phases myself, and have gone back to D2 and modded the life out of it.
Its way cooler now IMHO.

Life's ok though, work is great, Bec's starting to settle into life in the big smoke.Back playing D2, not quite as much as before but enough, made use of RTB's mods and am having a good time.
How's life on your end? I hope the wife and dog are well, and work isn't getting to you..

Lifes been great on my end as well. Work has been a cinch since Ive met all of my recent deadlines. Not much to do actually, sort of a down period in between major contracts. The house still blows, and there has been a delay in the building schedule of my new home so I wont be able to move until 2007+ which means Im stuck in the **** hole for another 2 years. Itll give me a chance to save though so I guess Ill have to deal. Nice to hear you and Bec are doing well and that shes getting adjusted to live in the big town. I imagine your health has improved since the move and lack of stress? Good luck with everything. Keep me posted.Let me liven up this thread by posting a moral question/dilemma. Why is the SPF in general so against mods. I remember a discussion a while back where people chimed in about how lame it is do mod Diablo 2. This comes out because I have added a ton of mods, and let me say....its way way cooler. 1500 extra items, not overly powered. Diablo clone, all the new rune words, annihilus, only to name a few. Brings the fun back. Well take it easy.

A lot of what goes on here is community, trading, playing together, tourneys, etc. And unless you're playing by the same rules as the rest, it's hard to join in. I'm sorry but I wouldn't want to face you in a tourney, you'd have a clear advatage. Besides, SPF hasn't gotton too board with 1.11 yet.roninDOG said:

I agree with you whole heartedly watermoon. It makes alot of sense when it comes down to trading, tournaments, and MPing. In fact I still have the ability to run vanilla 1.10 with no mods at all, and I still have my unmodded stash and characters. I can continue to participate in those activities if I chose. What I was reffering to more was the sort of elitest air about the SPF. I have read entire threads where people rag on the RRM saying how it was cheating and how you shouldnt play a game if your going to cheat and what not. This has kind of toned down recently, but even in the DooL there was some distaste expressed for playing anything other than clean diablo 2. Not sure where exactly but I participated in the discussion. Thoughts?

therefore it was easier to just all mods = bad than to sit down and look at each mod. and as W_M was saying it levels the playing field.

as for the mods, well, the general arguement is that it changes game play. And quite frankly, I haven't really seen one that doesn't in some form or fashion. Though from what it looks like latly, most everyone uses RRM or RWM. (I don't need them, I pick up everything anyway and the only runeword I want is CoH.)

@Ronin - Glad to hear things are going well and work is a breeze.
In Grogs' world - I'm a little worried about submitting my tax return this year, I am thinking that I'm going to have the mother of all bills (around 10K). I've got to go and see an accountant, and hope that he/ she is very, VERY good.

@corax - got plenty of pictures of ronin but I need to scan quite a few of them. Ill see if I can get some uplaoded for viewing. Hes rather large now, about the same size as my wife, and he packs quite a punch in sort of a baby huey way. Hes so big, but refuses to act like an adult....he just wants to run and play all the time, and enjoys getting into trouble.

Toughest thing ever.....going to your best friends wedding (yesterday) and coming into work today .......good god. Glad to hear your doing well though, hopefully youll come round the SPF more...this thread is barely staying alive.
@watermoon - I had this big old mod phear....but they are sooooooooo fun to play. Mods have been added to allow me to play any character really, through hardcore. Toughness level is still there to the point that you have to play smart, but imagine taking say a hardcore poison necro, nova sorc, or zealot through hell .... well at least I think its cool. hehe.
