Thought I should pop in for my weekly hello :)

RL is going good, and although work is consuming alot of my time, I face forward and am relieved to know that my study will commense in a few months
Then I can finally get away from this dreadful place (work).
I'm really looking forward to it. I'm certain that this is what I've been unknowingly wanting for all those years. And I'm certain that I will be a great engineer and will crowd the world with bridges and towers.

Girlfriend is doing good, although her neck and back still hurts from the accident. She's visiting a physio therapist on a weekly basis though so hopefully she will get better soon. She is alot better than she was just two weeks ago, so things are going the right way.

I'm almost never playing computer anymore, and I'm starting to regret that I didn't buy a laptop instead of the stationary one I bought in january. Silly me :uhhuh: but who could've known?

Summertime is finally creeping to Denmark. We might be blessed with 28 degrees Celsius tomorrow, which I very much hope, since my girl is coming to see me tonight. We'd then go to the beach tomorrow, and barbecue in the park, be out late and just enjoy the late spring. Oh how I hope the weather will be nice ... please ? :p

That'll be all for now folks. I'll pop in later on. Have fun, and please make sure we don't hit page 4 ever again hehe!

Best regards
Rizzo

Giveaway thing: I haven't forgot, but like last time it might take a bit before showtime... Yeah yeah I'm slow.

okay, I draw the line at lost on page four. Real life is all well and good, but really, tell us how it's going a bit more often.

Me, I need sierra gradening tips. I'm so sick of 90% sprout rate with 80% fatality before the plants 3 inches tall! The soil drys out fast than you can throw a horking cat off your lap and even though I have permission to water once a day b/c I have vegitables, I can't hope for rain b/c that might cause flooding (a few swimmers have already nearly drowned since all the rivers are in spring flood mode.) Stuipd mountains, stupid weather, meh.
You could buy some Peet Humus (sp?). Its rich organic matter that will hold moisture a lot better than your dry Sierra soil. Also, if you don't already have a mulch pile, you should start one. Read the recipes on how much green/brown to mix, and that should also help your soil quality to hold moisture better.

The deaths were in rich dirt inside becuase it didn't warm up & stay warm until 3 weeks ago and I wanted stuff to at least have a growing season. Oh and the Miracle Grow moisture formula w/ peat and coconut had the highest fatalities. As for outside, I'm not really planting in the soil, I have a bunch of very large containers and since I don't plan at staying at this aprtment too much longer don't want to try to fight the rooting prenials that the former renter liked and the weeds that came in when they tilled the whole thing last August.

1. a layer of mulch = pwn
2. cut up some plastic bags and have them line the inside of your shadehouse(if you have one). the evaporated water will condense and fall back to your plants. = pwn too.

oh and. hi everybody.
RL has been good. Been working alot AND the bank actually refunded me half of the $70 they was stealing off me. lets hope I get the other lot too.
Cindy and I are really close now. I'm dreading moving in 2 months time but there's really nothing for it.

Also the n00bs over in the necro forum have re-sparked an interest in Warhammer 40k the tabletop battle game. So i'm going to start collecting an Imperial Guard army. however I intend to limit myself to $100 a month at most.

I'll see y'all around
*varnishes*....you heard me...

huh????? shade..house? and when the humidity is under 20% not even the night gets cold enough to reach the dew point. I'm not offically in a desert, but that's only b/c so much run off comes from the mountians, sage brush is still more common than grass in empty lots though.

How D all,

Glad to see your well. 40k and Warhammer are teh pwnage. I never went into 40k, but I have a Wood Elf Army, Undead Army (Vampire Counts), Orc/Goblin, Dwarf Army, and the small makings of a Chaos and Imperial Army.

I took some time of work last week so I could have roughly 6 days off. It was great. Me and wife went to a park to walk dogs on Wednesday, then headed out the beach to camp for a few days. Pretty much everything went wrong that could go wrong, but we still had a great time.

After that I played some serious DnD, Starcraft, and just relaxed in general.

Hope ur doin well too.

Maybe you're just not supposed to garden in the desert?

Did some great camping with the family this weekend. It rained a lot, but we bought a pop-up camper last year, so it worked out great. For those of us in the states, it was a 3-day weekend for Memorial Day.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Everybody else does here. And the roses are doing just fine, it's the bulbs and annuals and seeds I'm having a hard time getting to play nice.

Anyway, I have to go work on a suncatcher I'm making for my littlest cousin's first b-day in 9 days.

Maybe a small greenhouse could help you W_M. It might keep some of the sun off of the plants, while holding in moisture.

To all - Haven't been here in a while, but I'll post an actual life update later

Hope you're all doing well

Go camping anywhere special?? I like to take my wife and friends up to Mt. St. Helens to camp. Talk about beautiful.

@ w_m: I don't know how you can live in the not-so-desert, desert. But then again I've never liked the heat. That's why I left Michigan. ;)

We just went to a state park in Southern Ohio this time...nothing too exciting. Although, I'm going backpacking in Alaska at the end of the month, so I'm really looking forward to that.

Water_moon...I just don't know what to tell you, having no actual experience with dry climates. My veggie garden is nice and easy...if it doesn't rain for 2-3 days, I run the sprinkler for an hour, and everything grows. Good luck, desert-dweller. :D

We're in the mountians, that's how. We're right next to Lake Tahoe (big wet) but on the dry side. At such high altitude water evaporates quickly, but we also get a fair amount of mountian shade at our valley floor. We're in a drought still, but the 16 ft (about 5 meteres) snow pack in the mountains from this winter still hasn't melted all the way (shoot, not all the ski resorts are closed yet) and has almost broken the drought. Personaly I don't think it's the dry that does it, I think it's the altitude. I know some people get sick up here (I've had no prob but some do) and established plants don't have a problem, it's the seeds and bulbs. (except for weeds, ugg, those get a good hold easy, nasty little buggers)

I grew up in New Mexico, by the mountains (~5000 ft., but still desert climate), and growing up my mom used to have the same problem with plants that you seem to have. She used to keep them in the shade as best she could (we had a patio with a wood awning), and water them often. It's hard to keep them alive in a desert climate though. ><

On an odd note, what part of MI? >.> My parents moved back there 5 years ago.

It has been several days since I've played Diablo II. Over memorial day weekend, I tore down the computer in order to move to my new apartment. For the past 4 years or so I was living with parents, but now I'm finally out on my own. Its a bit scary, but I'm looking forward to it. And also, my roommate is a girl. :D I don't think she's ever played Diablo II, but our lease doesn't expire until January so I have plenty of time to turn her around.

And I've also purchased a new exercise bike, so I'll now have less time for playing computer games, and more time for 'feeling the burn.'

Just dropped by for a note or two :)

Hi peeps!

Things are going really great with everything, but since I've almost entirely stopped playing computer, I've lacked interest to come in here frequently. So I'll do the Ronin trick and stop by once in a while.

Vacation is coming up for me in around 2 weeks, starting the 20th of june, which is also the 2 year anniv for my girl and I YAY!
I'm still working on the photo album for her, have put all the pics in it, now it just needs text. I still have to find her another nice present tho... hmm..

Besides that, things are the usual. Work alot, but in three months im quitting! I'm gonna start studying to become an engineer and man am I looking forward to it! The only problem is the flow of cash which will be severely limited when I start studying. Gotta figure out what the devil I do. Hopefully I can earn some money on modelling, otherwise I'll have to find a small sidejob.

Well, that's all for now. Have a great day everyone!
See ya

Have you thought about building a little hothouse. You can make them small enough that they're portable. Some lumber, and a couple of old house windows will do the trick. That might be able to trap some moisture, maybe?
Although I couldn't say if it would make up for the altitude.

How high up are you there? My wife got sick when we were at about 9000 feet in Colorado, but she got over it in a day.

No room for a hot house, back patio of apartment too small for that.
On the valley floor where I'm at it's just 5000 ft (most people who have prob get it up at Lake Tahoe, to get up there you go from 5000 ft to 8000 ft and back down to 7500 ft in a 30 min drive, talk about messing with your ears, yeck.)
Actually I've given up on the seeds, too late in the season for most of them.

@rizzo, enjoy your RL, you'll haev pleanty of time for the computer are ya'll are married
