i am going to state competition for choir in two weeks. we got back from regionals yesterday and since then i have been really excited about it. anyways. yeah, we all got superior ratings and one of the groups i was in got the same ratings as the command performances at the end concert which means that basically we were the best of the best. anyways. i gotta go ttyl.
Bunny, that's awesome. How big is your group? I can't imagine having too huge a choir where you live. What part do you sing? I sang bass in my high school choir, and it was loads of fun. Plus, we took a trip to Williamburg, Virginia each year for a choir competition, which of course included Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens...very fun. Let us know how it goes for you.

Also am beginning to develop a web comic which I hope I will follow through with. Work has died down, but only a little...and I am not all to sure I am content where I am at but I know Im not going anyware.

Our small group that is going to state competition has 7 people going to state but really has 8 people in it. One of our guys decided to get suspended so he didn't have to go to competition because he didn't want to be in choir. Not that I mind that he isn't going because he is a jerk, lol. I am an alto 1, but can sing some 2nd saprano which is spelt wrong, alto 2, and even a little tenor! We are go on a big trip next year around the state and I am looking forward to that ^^.

Our large group choir has 28 people in it, and only 3 of our Altos really can sing, two of us are also in the show choir that is attending state. Sadly we only have 2 guys in that choir, but they work really hard and have no problem harmonizing with us!

Anyway, I am not feeling too well so I am gonna lay back down. Have a great day!

Anyway, im not into singing myself, so for those of us who arent up to scratch, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being barry white and 10 being a man with his gonads stuck in a clamp, how high do you sing buns?

as bunny is female she would exceed 10 on your scale. So I'd say between 11 and 14 (between lower and medium female voice)

I'd sing at about 6-8,5 on your scale. - I am a tenor and have been singing since I am 16.

@ronin: dnd is awesome. I play DnD myself for over 10 years now but not as a DM, just as a player. A nice campaign to start with is the Freeport trilogy btw.
Do you play in Faerun or another world?
My current character is a cleric of Sune, goddess of beauty and love - and this character is so much fun. He has chosen to become a Heartwarder as his prestige class. My other character is a rogue, coming from Tantras. He is aiming to be a Dungeon Delver as his prestige class.

BTW please cross your fingers, I have my graduation exam tomorrow at 9.30 MET.

Alto is lower range. How high can I sing was your question though. If I have enough warming up like I did over the weekend I can hit soprano 1 notes, which is really freaking high. But I try not to do that because it messes up my voice.

@isengart - Indeed, DnD is pretty much the best game I have ever played in my entire life. The limitless possibilites for doing anything within reason, and a game engine fueled by the imagination. I am currently not playing in any predesigned realms, rather I have played as a PC in a world my father created before my birth with the 1st edition DnD books, and as a DM in a world I created for my father and brother. My father is playing as a paladin, no prestige class reached as we recently started campaign. Brother is playing as an Iaijutsu master. I have played as a F/M/T elf and as a Cleric Mod Character adjusted to be similar in respects to a Catholic Priest.

@corax - they have chat room and post by play DnD, definately worth checking out.

do you guys play as though a palidin has to be lawful stupid? I like pallies but I don't see them as bad as they tend to make out.

@isengart: I'd disagree with that. Guys singing falsetto (or castrati if that clamp stays on too long) can go pretty high. I was alto in our Collegium Cantorum and I can still match James Taylor note for note when I try. (though it does tend to do a number on my vocals)

Counter tenors were the reason for rating myself below 10. Actually they sing Alto parts and some (very rare though) can even sing Soprano parts.
I am a tenor, and studied classical singing for 4 years. two of them at music university in Graz and two more on the conservatory in Graz.
concerning the paladins: we stick to the rule that a paladin has to be lawfull good. a paladin without that fanaticism is no paladin (that even matches for parts of d2 paladins ;))
there has to be a downside for all the ups this class gets. so paladins are a mighty class but also the class that causes a TPK (total party kill) most likely.

I was refering to saying that as a female, bunny couldn't be on the scale that fbob suggested. He had a 1-10 scale that can still be valid for all vocal ranges. I don't doubt your own prowress, I'm sure you could bring the EMB to it's feet or knees as you wished if you ever wanted to use the karioke machine gathering dust in there, but just as you can sing high, I can sing low.

@wm: hehehe I might do that once ;)
I don't think that the average man will scream in soprano even if his gonads are clamped...
the female voice is situated an octave above the male voice in average. and as fb took two men as the limits for his scale I thought that an alto/lower soprano is probably higher than a screaming guy but I may be wrong on this. I would not scream in soprano for sure ;)

well, more squeak then scream, but it's a cultrual refence (movies, TV jokes, etc.) here that a guy who got kicked, or otherwise damaged "there" will squeak very, very high, for a short period of time.

Yeah, you got a problem with that, mister? ;) I sang, and it was a lot of fun. And I met a lot of girls too.

I've never played DnD. Actually, D2 is the first video/computer/rpg of any kind that I have ever played. I really am the ultimate n00b. When I started D2, I knew exactly nothing. I think I may have moved a bit beyond that point now, maybe. :D

yes. fish should be used for only two things, eating and slapping. nothing else

I'm a pretty noobish gaming person. my closest DnD experience about from BG series is the old board game style DnD adventure Heroquest. and that was with just one friend.

3 days nacaa, its safe to call after 3 days. You dont want to give her the impression your head over heels and chasing her. But you have to let her know youve got intentions. 3 days of waiting is enough to achieve both. She is remembering you the whole time, and then her anxiety will be relieved when you finally do call. Trust me on this on. ;)

A small update ;)

I called her 3 days after and we are going out on saturday now. Whoho. Sorry for not posting earlier, but I have been busy with a 10 day exercise.
