    OT - computer question

Just a quick question, I'm sure someone here knows the answer to.

I let my brother use my new computer for a couple of days.
Now my homepage has been changed - I won't tell you to what... and it won't let me change it back.
I reset it to default, but the "use current page" "use blank" etc is faded out so I can't select any option.
    I use Windows XP home.
Any ideas on how to get to back to normal?

    Thx.

Sounds like you have spyware installed in your pc.

    Google some spyware remover
    Here's one
    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Remember to install antivirus as well, search download.com - some are free.

BTW a very good alternative is mozilla with tabbed windows support.
Google firefox (I'm using it now)

I agree with rpg, most likely some spyware.

Adaware is ok, but I find "spybot search and destory" works much better. It also has a protect mode, which keeps your computer from getting slammed in the future. Both are free, as in beer, give them a try.

And for a free antivirus, give AVG a try.

    Ok, thx! I'll try spybot.
I use NOD32 antivirus which seems quite good.

You get beer for free??!! Where from?

Well, Spybot cleaned it all up.

It was spyware, infiltrating the very registry of the computer.

    Evil pron!
