GOD SAVE THE COOKIES!!!

I suggest getting in a good size boot, tie a long rope to somehting high on the roof or house and taking all your goodies to the boat. Stick a generatoe in the boat, perferably in a well vented area, crank that puppy up, take puter to boat and play SP till the storm is over.

If it really were crack to you i am sure you would of thought about a generator and SP.

lol!!!

I think I am staying on till charlie kicks me off!!!

I just hit the store again (friend is on her way over and she doesn't have her own beer) but now I am back and we are in a calm straetch - they go in bands of rain and calm.

I am in Orlando (or just North thereof) so they say the main punch isn't going to be here until around 6 - I think Zappa is on the coast, he mentioned Sarrasota in one post which is near my Mom and Dad and that is on the Gulf. So if that is where h is he is getting hit pretty hard right about now and then when Charlie is done with Zappa it will come say hi to Cy! :surprise:

I gather Orlando is more in the path now that the storm has turned right a bit...Zappa will get it much worse in Sarasota (tho less now it is a bit lower then predicted).

You'll probably just get really wet as much as anything tho the winds will still probably be up there. I expect Disneyland is closed or will be shortly. Maybe the boat idea isn't a bad one. Be sure and paint a message on your roof (like um "send dry cookies") so we know it's your place on CNN.

*makes plans to take whole family to Disneyland at Christmas while staying at Cy's place*

Although it might not be gender appropriate or politically correct, as the very old saying goes "keep your pecker hard and your powder dry".

*pops beer open*

Here's to the brave & wet people of Florida!!!!!!!

Stay dry Cy!

And Cy- what else would you be using the batteries fo- oh. nevermind.
*blushes*

Now, if Charley were to be hitting out here in Cali, the surf kids would be having a field day, if the pics on cnn.com (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WEATHER/08/13/storms/index.html) are representative.

Hey, no one said us surf kids were smart!

*goes off to prepare dry care package of cookies & ziplock baggies..*

Add:
Gas powered generator ... check
10 gallon tank of gas ... check

Even if power goes out, many times the phones still work. Dialup HC!

I live in Naples, we got whacked pretty good, power was down for almost 24 hours. It was hot as hell (95°F) humid as hell, dark as hell, no electricity at all, all the food in the fridge spoiled pretty much, but the funny thing is now that the power is back, I kinda wish only the AC had of came back on, because now im right back to being a hopeless D2 addict.

Yeah... hugo was fun! I was really worried about Charlie picking up strength again once it got back in the ocean but luckily it didn't. My girlfriend called me as the eye was passing over myrtle beach. Luckily i'm closer to the mountains AKA Clemson (GO TIGERS!!!!!) so i'm just not getting anything from this. But she had me worried out of my mind!!

I'm north of Clearwater, we didn't have any bad weather at ALL. You would have never even known there was a hurricane anywhere if you weren't watching it on TV. We only had about 1/2 inch of rain the whole day. Yesterday was a different story tho, we got four inches of rain.

One of the managers where I work at in Largo (between Clearwater & St. Petersburg) evacuated up to Orlando and he ended up in worse weather than if he'd stayed in St. Pete. Plus he subjected himself to probably a four hour "evacuation" or worse up I-4 - which I'm sure was one huge slow moving parking lot.

Now we have to keep an eye on Earl, which is coming right up a similar path as Charley.

I was starting to go through withdrawl!

Charley came and went - taking a couple trees behind my apartment with it. I lost power only a few times during the hurricane itself and only for a minute or two at a time but I also moved this weekend. Yes ... moving in a hurricane is a really baaaaad idea.

So I am at the new place and rommie's comp is up and working but we are waiting on a wireless router to get mine going - and she doesn't have enough memory to dl diablo so I am still bnetless. :hanky:

I am playing sp but it just isn't the same.

Ahhh well ... router thing should be here Tuesday so see you all then!

Till then ... :drink: ... gotta finish off my hurricane supplies!!

One of em hurricanes the newsman said might possibly have a chance of venturing slightly into the western Gulf of Mexico (Exact words, I live in Texas). This, of course, means we are all doomed :scared:
