Optimum MF%

hey all! i would greatly appreciate it if someone can enlighten me on this..i've heard that there is a certain cut off point where u start to get alot more rares and less unique and set items..is it true? i also read something bout diminishing returns as u go higher..does anyone has a idea of wat is the optimum MF% range? THANKS!!! :innocent:

The more MF you have the more sets and uniques you will find... although you will not notice this unless you put in hours and hours of MF runs. Their is no cutoff point although yes their are deminishing returns, however most dedicated MF'ers will wear as much MF as humanly possible while still being able to kill at a respectable rate.

Best range of MF depends on a lot of things. Your char class, your skills, how fast you can kill, etc the list goes on. The best MF there is when you can kill at a good pace and survive without too much trouble. I'd say 250-400 is a good range, but that's just me.

The optimum MF is as much as you can have without losing too much killing speed and survivability. I like to aim for 600, other like to have less but kill faster. Its a personal preference.

oh is it? thanks for the help! i'm wearing tal's set with gull and rhyme on switch for the killing blow..i have 500% MF with decent killing speed on hell meph and pindleskin..is that considered enough? :innocent:

Hi decoy_sJ,

You may also want to put MF gear on your merc (if you use one).
Your merc's MF will add to your own. :thumbsup:

oh my merc is wearing stealskull + ptopaz and uped shaft + ptopaz..i try to let him deliver the finishing blow when it is possible..thanks for the advice!

oh and sorry another question..pit runs and manso runs..do we clear the entire place? or just the unique monsters? :innocent:

Take them all down. They can all drop well (bosses just drop better).

Kill everything. MF'ing in the Pit, WSK, Ancients Tunnels, etc. all based on quantity, not quality, as opposed to Meph runs, where you aer the exact opposite.

The new ATMA has a drop calucator wich also displays how much your change for unique/set/rare/magigal raises when you equip certain ammount of MF. You can check it if you want to know the dimishing returns.

example:

1000% mf: change for uniques increased by 200%

9999% mf: change for uniques increased by 243%
 
damn, so my fishy with 9999 MF n him wont get mcuh more than my other barb with only 1000 MF??? damn. :lol:
anyway, there is a point where you stop gaining 100% of the value it stats, its quite low thugh. after that point, the diminishing returns kicks in.
