While the skin can absorb certain materials they generally need to be suspended in an agent that will facilitate this. That's why DMSO is very dangerous. It doesn't see the skin as a barrier. Anything dissolved in it will end up in your bloodstream.

Painting every square inch of your body in inappropriate paint can lead to heat stroke. You generate an awful lot of heat and if you can't vent it your body will be starting to cook itself.

Yes, that is another thing I have heard before but hasn't thought of. I can't stand to have paint or pen or anything on me at all, so I don't think it would ever be a temptation for me.
