Re: one of many "super human" abilities of a human in emergencies
biology+physics, mince pies.
unfortunately, the truth is physical performance is directly and exclusively tied to the actual biology (the person u are born as. every spec of u. from outside to internal to cellular to genetic) and the physics/"aerodynamics" of your size, shape, etc..
if it wasn't, every one could be a professional athlete. every one could be a world class soccer/futbol, baseball, american football, tennis, golf, basketball player, boxer, wrestler, olympic sprinter, olympic swimmer, etc...
each person can be improved slightly with training, but you're born the fastest sprinter or fastest swimmer in the world. no amount of training can make some one who isn't to be a top athlete. of course u can have a top athlete waste their natural ability by not training and perfecting their natural ability. but the fact is, it is determined by birth, by your genes and body.

so in your question to why animals are so amazing normally and humans aren't:
it has to do with their very bodies compared to ours. i'm not well knowledgable on exactly why. maybe an animal has more bone mass or muscle mass. many animals DO have much much more weight-mass and that huge weight-mass is muscle too. in humanity there are a few humans who have reached ~600 lbs. but that 600 lbs is fat. now let's take a gorilla. ~800 lbs of mostly muscle. that's a big difference. how a tiger can be 400 lbs i have no idea. it's body isn't "that" much bigger than a person. this question is more for a zoologist and biologist and human biologist and genetist. i know some about all this but not enough for the specific reasons why animals and humans are so different in terms of physical ability/performance.
