One Hitted by Fb - Impossible?

Hey I have been dueling with my lightning sorc, and have been noticing this stupidity...

Every time I get hit by a fire sorc, its almost always a 1 hit kill.. Even by a 9k fireball.

My stats are: (I'm a lightning sorc)

    900 Life
    3100 Mana

    Energy Shield : 95%
    Telekinesis : Level 29

Now, if i calculate PvP damage of a 9k fireball :

    9000(PvP)x(resistance)= damage

    9000(.83)x(.25)= 1867 damage

If it hits me with ES up, I will take:

1867x0.95x0.75=1330 mana taken (telekinesis at level 20 makes you take .75 mana instead of 1mana per 1hp right?)

    1867x0.05= 93.35 hp damage.

Are my calculations right? Because in this case i should easily be able to tank 2-3 fireballs before my mana goes and I die. Why isn't this so?

First of all, how u know its a 9k fireball? They can get up to 20k plus any fire facets that may lower ur res.

Also, ES is taken before resistances, so when u get hit and u have ES on resistances dont count. So if u get hit with a 18k fireball its 18000*.17=3060 damage.

That makes alot more sense. But in that case it was a 9k fireball and it nearly 1 hitted me. ( I asked )

I belive it should look like this, assuming you have 20 hard points in telekinesis:

    9000 * . 17 = 1530 after pvp penalty
    1530 * .05 = 76.5 dmg to life
and, since you said you had max resist, 76.5 * .25 = just over 19 damage.

Perhaps he meant 19k? that would make more sense.

Looking at your TK lvl i highly doubt he has 20 hard pts in it, it even looks like he may have only put 1 into TK and 20 into ES, could you possibly give some more info on that? Having TK max'd greatly reduces the dmg to your mana pool, and seeing that you may not have it maxed, that may be why your almost being deeded in by a 9k fb (which seems very fishy to me as most fb duelers pack a few thousand more than that).

Only hard points count for telekinesis. Do you have 20 hard points innit?

Pvp penalty is 1/6th, or more accurately, dmg*.17.

He may've been lying about his fireball damage.

Agreed. Even without the ES you would only need 42% fire resist to survive a single fireball:

    9000*0.17*(1-0.42) = 887.

They could be using loads of facets - which would reduce your resistances potentially by a lot - a CS with 6Facets could cut 30% off your resists. With another in the helm, shield and armor. But then there's a lot of gear sacrafices.

My guess is they lied about their fireball.

Most likely it wasn't exactly 9000, but between 9000 and 10 000, something like
say 9300, ending up at 917, killing the dude here.

However, even without Telekinesis ES is a factor. Telekinesis only makes sure your mana isn't dead in 1 hit. Even without TK, ES still reduces the amount of damage.

So the guy would need 106k damage if you have 95% ES and zero resistances.

Which again, is impossible. So something is not correct.

Does the OP literally mean 1 hit? And how does he know the damage?
