Ondals Wisdom; A use beyond leeching?

The stats on it seem fairly decent at a first glance, especially the +4 skills but I'm assuming most people would much rather go with a 1 handed weapon/shield combo. The +defence bonus is very nice, even if you roll a lower value but it is still no substitue for a shield because it obviously gives no block rate. So do people ever use them for anything besides leeching that extra bit of exp from a run?

At least not for more than maybe precast or such.

If you look at the game from Blizzard's point of view, i.e. untwinked, every unique you find is awesome. That's a VERY nice staff. In theory, just playing the game casually, you'll never find both Ondal's and Death's Fathom, so it doesn't matter that some uniques are better than it. Duel Spirits are better mod wise, and realistic for untwinked play, but Ondal's has low stat requirements.
