ok, im making a xfer items guide......

i had it with these "OMFG I XFERED WITH SUM 1 AND HE TOOK MY STUFF!!!!" posts, so there for im gona make a item xfer guid to all you newbies out there, plus im bored ne ways... ok i admit im a noob to i stole some items while sum 1 asked me to xfer and ive been playing for only 2 months (i play 24/7 though)

I. types of xfering
there is pretty much 3 types of xfering: player to player, password game, and random game xfering. note that all of the xfering method has a chance to fail but a the chance is slim if you play your card right. note, that i used all the methods before and i never failed to xfer so theres proof of a slim chance to lose xfers.

a.player to player: only xfer stuff from one player to another unless you trust them good. This includes: ppl you know in real life, veterns from the forums who have all the elite items and dont care about your crappy items. Don't ever xfer with random ppl you met online (learned from the oppasite side of the experiance :lol: ). Also its common sense not to leave your person waiting because no one want to wait 1 hour for you to take a pee eat dinner and watch tv, plus the the guy might change his mind and steal your stuff...

Pros: -once you get ppl you really trust you can transfer godly items without failing to transfer, you get you xfer 100% of the time
-you can relatively get your items xfered fast
Cons: -the person who is holding your stuff might betray you...

b.password game: this method is probably the safest way to xfer stuff if you dont have ne friends. its also the slowest method so that annoys me a lot. what you do is make a password game stay in for 5 mins to permanante (do a meph run for the time) and then leave your stuff at town. then come back with your other char to collect the stuff.... not so bad huh?

Pros:-good method if you dont have trustable friends
-a realitvely high chance of getting your xfer
Cons:-battlenet servers might "hiccup" deleting your game and your stuff in the game(never experianced it but i heard stories)
-you have to wait 5 mintues to just do 1 transfer... not very fast

c.Random game xfering: this is the most risky way of xferin but it is the fastest,first join a game with your char you want the items xfered to stay in there for about 30 seconds to check out the mood of the game (if it has many ppl, less ppl, bunch of ppl spread out through the acts). if the game has a catchy title (cow games, free stuff) then dont do your xfer there. once you checked the game out then bring your guy with the stuff you want to xfer and go to a desserted place in a deserted act via waypoints (i prefer darkwoods in act 1 becaue of its trees, you can make your items obscure to sight. leave the game. come back with your other char again and pick up stuff.

Pro: very fast method of xfer
con:-sum dumbdicks might figure out that you left a soj on the darkwood wp and com and pickup your stuff
-if you join a popular game you might get a "game is full" meaning you cant join the game to pick up your stuff
-never xfer godly items via this method

I really have nothing to add except that u should never trust ppl u meet on the zone unless u know em in real life (as long as u can kick their *** or they are B==D's, dont trust em) From my experiences, and my friends, no matter how many expert friends u have and what they tell u, you always get scammed at least once...just goes to show dont trust the average player out there! :wave:

Yes, I ahve used all three methods myself, though mostly I favor the passworded game method as I typically wait until I have stuff to transfer from a bunch of characters and I end up making ten transfers between characters on 3-4 diferent accounts.

One word on passworded games, don't make obvious passwords like '123' or the same numbers as in the game name. If you do, don't be surprised if someone enters and starts looking around. Also, remember that if you ahve mutual friends they will see the gmae name, so be extra careful of the password in this circumstances, unless you implicitly trust all your friends with everyhting you own.

Thats not always the case.... I'm friends with someone who i've never met in my life.. He knows my password to my account.. i know his.. its been this way for almost a year now and never been scammed... There are some (tho very little) trustworthy people who play

When making guides... try using proper grammar, or.. wait for it... a spellcheck

If you are really trying to make a quality guide, you have some decent info here, but be more specific (you said "join a game" in the use a public game and hide your item method, what kind of game? Joining baal runs or something would be silly, they dont last long. You need to include details (such as... join games where people will likely be concentrated in one area... away from where you are transfering, and pick a game which will stay up for a while, for example, an act4 game, people wont be in act1 very much, it will stay up long enough for you to do your transfer, it is not likely to fill up whileyou switch characters)

One other thing you might want to mention is that if you enter of exit a game too many times too quickly, then it kicks you out for 15 minutes. This is only really a problem for the passworded game, when you transfer maultiple items from different characters.

By the way, does anyone happen to know how many games you have to join (and how much time you have to join them) before you get kicked out of b.net?

technically that is true...Blizzard says that all games will stay up a minute when created to allow you to join. However, it's a very risky method...if say you take 10 seconds to join, that only allows you 50 seconds to leave the game, get a char and comeback. So yea, if it's stuff you don't care too much about / stuff that isn't worth 5 minutes of waiting, you could do it, but otherwise, PATIENCE!

I have Lod on two computers. When I hide a character or item on one computer then look at the same view with my other computer the character or item is rarely in the excact same place. What is hidden on one computer is in plain view on my other computer. Sorry but beware.

Of course transfering items with two computers is great but, how many people have that option.
