Oh, the irony

I spend about 95% of my time in D2 running pit/council/shenk/eldritch/pindleskin, using either my 85 wind druid with 590 mf, or my enormously fun 87 IK barb with 300 mf. I've found skads and skads of uniques/sets/tradeables...you name it. However, the one item I've never found is a shako.

Well. I did a trade for a WF for my strafezon, who is pretty much inactive and is practically naked. I mule the bow to her, equip it, and walk into Blood Moor to try it out. Kill that blue zombie that hangs around there...and, you guessed it...a unique shako drops. Ha!

She has -0- MF.

Irony rocks my socks.

That's awesome. My oddest MF moment came after 100's of hell meph runs and I never found either unique phase blade. Then I do a run and get an azurewraith. I was pretty happy and I keep running. The VERY NEXT RUN, bam, there's a lightsabre. Haven't found either since. Not the same as your situation but wierd nonetheless.

One time I entered a game, said aloud to myself "Drop a SS for me meph", went a killed meph, and BAM, unq monarch.

First SS ever, I enjoyed it alot :thumbsup:

Ah, I remember when I found my first SS. I was also praying for it, and sweet-talking to meph about droping it for me, so one morning, before I went to school, I did a few meph runs. On my first one, I got the SS. I was so happy that day at school. I didn't even fall asleep in any classes, cause I was thinking of that SS all day long.

I even remember the game name I found it in -- ball1//12. (And that was a little more than a year ago.) :lol:

Not the kind of irony we're talking about, but I always find it amusing when I'm looking at the game list and see (for example) "Shako for Um" and the game right above it is "UM 4 shako"...

hehe.

I have a MF setup for my sorc which gives about 450 - 470 mf. However, I found way BETTER stuff when equiping my fast killing outfit which has around 230 MF. I found 2 sojs with less than 230 mf early on in 1.10.

And MF is a crazy thing. I found 5, yes FIVE Shako's this past week from Meph and Andy and this is with the 230 MF equipment on.

Oh and on a non-MF related topic: a LO rune popped out of a chest behind Meph the other night in Hell. I didn't realize a rune that high could pop out of a chest in Mephs lair. That's the highest rune i've ever found.

first time i found my ss was when i first started playing... i thought you could do the hell forge as many times as you wanted to, so i completed the quest the first run and nothing drops... second game i went into i didnt realize CAIN gave you the soul stone, so i went to meph owned him, and there it was a unique monarch, at first i thought it was rare and i took a double take.

3 games later in a cow run, another ss...

since then zero storms sheilds... 3 years is a long time.

This happened yesterday. OIne of my real life friends who plays was going to trade everything he had on ladder for the full Trang's set. I told him not to, because he might find some. So me, him, and another real life friend of ours start act 1 hell. The other kid kills some monster in the Den Of Evil...BAM, we got the gloves. About 20 minutes later in the Underground Passage, I whirlwind through a bunch of zombies..BAM, we got the armor. Not bad considering he already had the shield, and we found 2 parts just like *that*

PhsycoTimmay, I've had the same experience... I swear sometimes I can manifest things with my mind!! A couple of runs I've said "Meph, drop an occy", "Meph, drop a shako" and poof there it is!!

My concern is that 2 nights ago I was running Andy and Meph, when Andy (who I reckon is a jewellery store) dropped a Unique Ring. I said out load "My left nut for a SOJ"...
