    Occy or Wiz

I have an MF blizzard sorc. Should I use occy or wiz? I don't have a lot of good gear and I'm running low on mana even WITH wiz

Occy is the obvious winner for my money, only the grumpy old people complaining about the teleport being too rash for their game play

Use an insight merc with occy and 33+% fcr spirit to hit the 63 fcr breakpoint. Or use the wiz on switch with 13% fcr on other gear if you don't have 33% spirit

I just made a 35% fcr spirit. I thought the goal was the 105% fcr?

I'm also not sure what an insight merc is. Can you explain?

Congratulations on the spirit. ;D Yes 105% is a goal but if you can't get to 105% you want to at least hit 63%.

An insight merc is just a merc wielding insight which would give your party meditation. Since insight goes into polearms or staff you need an act 2 merc, preferably a norm/hell combat which gives prayer or nm defensive wich gives holy freeze
. You will have to see whether you like holy free or prayer more.

Basically insight regenerates your mana really quickly.

Ask any other questions and i'll try to answer them.

Also a thread stating sorceress breakpoints: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485631.

Do the mercs generally attack? AKA is it necessary to get one of those expensive hard to find 4sock CV's?

Yes they do mostly for the cold immune monsters. But if you're aiming to do andy/meph any polearm should do. I don't find my merc to be of much use in attacking anything with those two, mostly just there to distract the monsters and provide me with mana. Although eventually you probably wil want to upgrade to an elite polearm. Some people prefer eth threser/giant threser for the speed. Any of the non-eth elite polarms will give you aroun 1500 max damage for the merc. Etheral is much better but also quite expensive. I have two sorceress who have non-eth elitle polearm insights on their mercs and they do ok for killing cold immunes.

Short answer: No, you can make due with any polearm.

If you want i have a 4 socket scythe i can make into an insight for you. Picked it up for some reason and never got rid of it.

    Occy or Wizspike?

I say HOTO! :) Try to get a Vex rune somewhere down the line, the other runes are all easy to find.

An eth CV has a strength requirement of 200 which means that your merc has to be level 92 in order to equip it. Imo find another weapon to put insight in. Great Poleaxe for instance.

He doesn't need to be 92 - but he would need some +STR (generally in helm).

But if possible, other elite polearms work well - the nice thing about Insight is that the runes are easy to acquire. Feel free to make in a non-eth elite polearm until you find one, though, generally on sorcs that 4os eth elite polearm is usually becoming an infinity.
