Obama's treatment of Gordon Brown

I don't think it was the best of treatment, but I also don't think there are many lasting conclusions to be drawn from one visit two months into a president's term. In other words, I don't care.

Palin was great. Remember when they first brought her out? Everyone loved her. Until she opened her mouth that is.

Obama stuck to his guns on this one.

I'd take a stack of reruns over a pretentious pen anyday.

I mean Palin. McCain would have been OK, but he's an old and not very healthy man, and if his health failed at any point in the next 4-8 years, Palin was the replacement. The prospect of a Palin presidency was viewed by a lot of people over here as being potentially disasterous.
He is generally very healthy. Check his record.

And let's remember that Palin has way more experience than Obama did. It's very, very important to keep in the mind the difference between the legislative and executive branches. Being in the Big Chair is a far cry from being 1 in 100. Think about that.

Obama's mess ups since taking office are proof of that. Look at all his nominations that have had to pull out due to the failure to pay taxes and other dirty laundry. Maybe they are getting high praise for that. Look at all the openings at Treasury yet to be filled. His foreign policy. Need I go on?

McCain wouldn't have dropped the ball like this.

Yeah, no need for heads of state to show some respect for each other at their first meeting. :propeller:
No, there really, really isn't.

The only difference between him and Bush there is that he kicked them out when he found out.

I was hoping to actually have your viewpoint on this one.
C'mon, Saro, you <know> he can't talk about that in public (yet). Still too many people like me who want actual anti-American types thrown out of the country (or worse).

Particularly since he's more or less is rooting for the Obamatons' pounding on the Dow like it was a squeaky toy. He plans to be on the Oklahoma Politburo, remember?
The prospect of a Palin presidency was viewed by a lot of people over here as being potentially disasterous.
Y'all were suckers, you know that now, right? I mean <potentially> disastrous? :rolf:

I'll take that to mean you are defending Obama.

At least I, and many other conservatives here, are on record of having been critical of Bush many times.

LOL..burn ftw. Love it when the first time I come back in days I happen upon such a wonderful thread.

llad12, why such hate? Your golden boy, Messiah, hope and change figurehead was elected and is NOT fulfilling his promises. But, you have to figure who all voted for him. Certainly not the literate masses, but the sheep who will flock to whomever will give them money. I hope they enjoy their roughly 30 bucks a month "stimulus".

One of our local hospitals just laid off over 200 people. Hope and change. First Energy just laid off well over 300 people. Hope and change.

Obama is an embarassment to our country in so many ways.

Please llad12, show us how your golden boy is not a doofus and a liar.

You should all go easy on llad, he is still getting used to having to defend the position of someone, rather than attack it with quasi-relavent song lyrics.

Back on topic: I can't say I'm upset about this or anything, but I am disappointed. Not in Obama, I get the feeling I should save all the disappointment in him for later, but in his aides, who definitely should have known better. Maybe he brought in brand new staff or something...
I mean cmon, he could have at least had an aide take a statuette of Washington or something, it's not like they don't have enough of those...(sarcasm)
