Why is "boy" seen as offensive to black people?

It has been used to offend for a very long time to people started to take offence.

Either way, the whole racial thing is bull****. All white Americans are a mixture of Europeans, like the French, Dutch, German, etc. etc.

Same goes for Afro-Americans, just because they're 'black' doesn't mean they fit into one group. You can't just go and claim that people who's ancestors are originally from Rwanda are similar to those who are originally from ... Ethiopia.

Just like us though they're so interbred now that they're essentially one people, an all new one made out of lots of bits of old ones.

Condescending term that used to be used when addressing a slave. Not an actual ethnic slur though.
